Lovely hotel on the edge of town. The first room we were allocated had a close up view of a peeling tin roof and that was all. When I mentioned this to reception we were moved to a garden view room. 100 x better. Breakfast was lovely- great choice of fruit, yogurt, cereals, pastries and then a cooked breakfast to order. All staff very pleasant and helpful.

Fantastic staff in this hotel. So much so we stayed an extra night an booked to stay the following weekend. They have set up the outdoor seating area well and its a lovely area to sit and relax with food and drink. Would 100% recommend.
The staff were very friendly and the food was nice
Fantastic hotel, the staff cannot do enough for you. Food was excellent and the leisure centre was clean and well organised. 100% recommend
Great hotel adapted well to the current restrictions
Nice hotel, Annette on the front desk was fantastic and so helpful.
Nice room Nice food Frienldly staff
Lovely Hotel, room good, carpet a little stained though. Staff were great, very friendly. Breakfast tasty but pastries were scarce. short distance from town so it's an easy walk. Disappointed they had no entertainment on Sunday night. would definitely stay there again
Hotel was lovely and staff was friendly but unfortunately it was let down by the food. The food in both bar and restaurant was terrible to say the least. One of our party was very ill after Saturday nights meal and could not have anything to eat the next day. For this reason I would only rate it at 3 stars. Thank you.
Very enjoyable stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Very happy to recommend this hotel.
Perfect escape, very relaxing, quiet. Facilities were excellent and the food was great, plenty of it and very tasty :)
Great value - convenient location, friendly staff, generous food portions, comfortable, clean bedroom which was well supplied with everything we needed. Margaret May 2017
Lovely hotel within a couple of minutes stroll of the town centre. Clean and warm. Friendly staff.
clean....friendly staff...good food..
Hotel easy to find. Outside of the hotel is not very appealing. From the entrance to the hotel complex which is overlooked by a derelict site. The hotel entrance itself is quite nice. The staff are very friendly. Rooms very nice and clean Food in the bar was ok nice but quite expensive. No entertainment either evening even though it had been advertised that there was. No Games Room although it is specifically mentioned in their Brochure/Information Document found on bedside locker. Overall, everything was okay, but I will not be returning.
Hotel was fab! Staff are all lovely and helpful - pool was great and good was Fantastic, will be back soon!
a very nice hotel, tidy and very friendly staff.food in the bar was nice ,and breakfast was very good .lesiure center was great, will defenitly stay again ,would recommend
Excellent value for an overnight stay esp. with dinner included. leisure Center also included. Staff were very welcoming and attentive esp. at meal times. Will be back again.
Excellent stay at this hotel. Lovely facility. Staff friendly. Rooms spacious. Reasonable room rate. Breakfast great value & tasty. Swimming pool more suited to adults or confident swimmers but beside public pool which suits families better. Would highly recommend a stay here.
Second time in this hotel and as before we truly loved it! really nice and comfortable rooms, really well equipped leisure centre with friendly staff, and, on top of that, one of the best breakfast in Ireland (we loved the waffles!!!). Highly recommended and definitely will go back!
LOVELY HOTEL ,GREAT LEISURE FACILITIES AND WE REALLY ENJOYED FOOD BOTH NIGHTS AND STAFF VERY HELPFUL,ROOM VERY CLEAN JUST NEEDS UPDATING.WILL BE RETURNING.
I would like to send a Big Thank you to ALL the wonderful staff in the Abbey Court for making our stay very pleasant indeed .Great Bar Food
Nice hotel could do with a bit of updating here and there Lovely big rooms. We were told there would be music om the Saturday and there wasn't also the bar was opened until 12.30 but the staff decided to hoover and clean around at 12 which was a bit off putting. Nice breakfast but didn't think much of the bar menu for dinner we ended up eating in the town . There's a nice pub right on the corner called Peigs which had music on the Sunday night
Had a wonderful time there loved the meal and staff were very friendly. Rooms were the only let down they need a little updating
Beautiful room, lovely staff, food good, location good. Worth a visit and most enjoyable stay
Nice Hotel only met 2 members of staff that was anyway pleasent. Went to the hotel restaurant the Abbott service was ok food was a poor effort with no thought no presentato and no taste .Wont be Back
Great hotel, excellent food will try to visit again.
A gem of a find .We needed a little pampering and we got it.The hotel ticked all the boxes.Staff were outstanding the room and facilities were excellent and the food was great .Thanks to all.
I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. It is not the first time I’ve stayed and that is testament to the hotel and staff. From the minute I arrived to the minute I left I was dealt with in a very professional but welcoming way. Well done to all involved and I will see you all again soon.
Staff very welcoming, friendly and helpful. Spotless clean and food was delicious well done and thank you everybody we had a lovely stay.
the best 3 stars hotel we have ever been. They go the extra mile in term of service and quality of breakfast, rooms, leisure centre. We will definitely go back!!
This was my 2nd time staying here, and still have yet to be disappointed. I was there for the weekend, and could not fault anything. The staff were very helpful, friendly and pleasant, Padraig especially he was very pleasant and professional every time we encountered him, the food was fantastic and will be returning again without a doubt.
Very nice hotel, staff friendly, room spacious and clean. Pool, Jacuzzi and gym are excellent. Food in the bar was good and breakfast was great. Excellent value for money.
Really nice hotel. Room was lovely. Leisure facilities and swimming pool great. Food was absolutely fantastic. Staff very pleasant and extremely helpful. Bar was very relaxing. Would have been lovely to have some live music though. Would highly recommend and look forward to a return visit.
Arriived and meet with a lovely welcome . Staff very welcoming courteous. And polite . Headed to room which was very spacious . Bar area and food really nice . Staff in bar area very helpful . Really enjoyed my weekend . Only fault entertainment wasn't great
We stayed at this hotel recently and were very disappointed with both serving staff and the food, we had booked in for a meal on the fri and sat nite but after a terrible dining experience we had to cancel the meal for the sat nite and we had to go and eat outside the hotel, apart from the food everything else was lovely and john in the bar was a great guy full of chat and information about the area We will not be returning to this hotel.
I would just like to say, my stay in the hotel was brilliant, all the staff where very helpful and went over and beyond there duty. The foods was gorgeous and i have a 8 month old baby and they made our stay so easy and helped out to restaurant, breakfast, the room, and even the leisure club. I would highly recommend this hotel to couples and especially familys. I would like to thank the hotel and staff so much for making my stay feel like a holiday.
Excellent, staff friendly and Helpful. The Hotel was lovely, room very nice, beautiful décor and spacious and delighted to see bathroom was very clean. The food was lovely. Really enjoyed our stay and will be back. The pool was really nice, enjoyed our swim. Will recommend Hotel to friends. Catherine.
Food us 10/10. Superb. Room could do with updating & sheets no hotel smooth but very happy! Gym looked great....I just never made it!
Location was good as it was only 10min walk to the centre of town. The food was very good and staff were friendly. The rooms were clean but looked like it needed to be painted and tiles in the bathroom had cracks on them. I feel the receptionist could have been more informative on checking in as to what the hotel had to offer during our stay.
We opted for the deal that included an evening meal. Spacious room, very good food, & good service. Excellent pool & spa. no complaints
I enjoyed every minute of our stay.,room very comfortable, Leisure facilities superb and food delicious. Staff friendly, welcoming and helpful.
Really nice hotel. Staff amazing and very friendly. Food very good. rooms nice and big and clean. Nenagh town is nice. Really enjoyed our Stay there for two nights. Suits all age groups. Big car park.
I was extremely happy with the facilities in the Abbey Court, and enjoyrd my stay. We found Ray Lynch particulary helpful and professional
a very friendly hotel with good facilities, the meal was very good as was the breakfast, everything was clean and staff were friendly and helpful, would stay again at this hotel.
Very nice hotel - very impressive entrance hall. Staff extremely friendly on arrival. Food was great (only complaint if you call it that was there may have been too much on the plate)!!! Beds comfortable and rooms everything required - hairdryer, iron, etc. Very nice pool. Really enjoyed our stay her and would recommend to others.
Stayed in Abbey Court Hotel on Saturday night in May, the bedroom was nice and clean and the staff very friendly, food in restaurant great, music in bar ok. Would stay there again. Mary from Meath
Staff were excellant - Great value with the food in the deal - lovely hotel - lovely leisure facilities
Had a lovely overnight stay at the Abbey Court Hotel & Spa last weekend with my partner , we found it a lovely warm and clean hotel , the staff were very nice and friendly . Great breakfast lots of choices to pick from and plenty to eat great start to our day . We had dinner on the evening we stayed, in the bar area but it didn't go to well all though the food was of high standards my partner asked for his steak well done and he got it rare ..he was very disappointed as it put him off his meal the waiter agreed that it was rare and offered to take it back to the kitchen but my man said no as he does not like to send food back . In saying that we did enjoy our stay and made use of the swimming pool and the leisure center We will go back and maybe stay for longer :-) Ann Mooney
A superb break, food A1, staff friendly and accomodating...will be back.
Unfortunately Easter here was not a pleasant one for our party .. The breakfast was second to none and the staff were brilliant in the the circumstances ... Extremely busy at evening meantime and waiting forever during courses . A waiter came to our table at 11.30pm looking to settle the bill which had already been paid earlier ... €106 .... Felt like criminals ... Then on Sunday one of our party came down with a VIRUS which seemed to be rampant in the hotel ( 12 at least ) Another person on Monday from our party down with it too.. All the reception said , its in the town this few weeks... HSE in order I think .Disappointed with how it was dealt with... Should have been forewarned ....
Great hotel,lovely pool,will visit again. J&M Wexford
Hotel clean, comforable and homely, food very good, staff very friendly also good location and good value, would definetey recommend this hotel.
Nice Hotel. Great food great choice at breakfast.Pity about seating in the Bar.Not very comfortable. short staffed. but was a busy weekend.Staff very nice.Mr Mrs Leonard.
lovely hotel helpful friendly staff, and lovely food would highly recomend it
Very disattisfied with my stay in this hotel Staff friendly but hotel was absolutely filthy. Food very poor. Runner on the table was dirty. My daughter found a hair in her dinner. For breakfast I had a fly in my cup. We had two rooms and bathrooms in both were filthy. Grout on walls was yellow and brown. - swimming pool was aslo dirty. Walls in hotel were fillthy also very unpleasant odour in room corridoor.
Stayed for one night and had a lovely stay. The room had a king size bed in it even though we hadn't requested it. Beautiful hidden garden at the side of the hotel, well worth a walk around.
Fabulous hotel, friendly staff, lovely food, gorgeous rooms, would definately recommend.
Lovely hotel. Staff are helpful and friendly. Food in the restaurant and bar is beautiful.
Recently stayed two nights (fri and sat). Room was very comfortable. Food was excellent and staff very friendly. I would highly recommend it.
Great hotel. Would definitely stay again. Staff were amazing, rooms were great only issue was the bed was a hard but after a few drinks in the bar we hardly noticed. We used the spa would definitely recommend it. The pool and jacuzzi were lovely although seemed a little dirty. Breakfast had loads of choices. Would recommend the hotel especially for the price.
Staff were very nice and extremely helpful. The food was delicious all round good time
Hi Recently stayed in Abbey Court Hotel. Location very good 5 mins walk from town center. Staff very friendly and helpful. Hotel bedrooms very clean and very warm at night however bathrooms could do with a little maintenance. Check out evening tea very good value. Restaurant staff very helpful food portions very generous and of a good standard. Leisure center very good pool great jacuzzi, steam and sauna rooms with very clean changing rooms. We went on the Lidl breaks excellent value.
Stayed for one night in the hotel and found it lovely. The room was huge with mirrors everywhere and plenty of storage, beds were soooo comfy. Swimming pool and gym were very nice and relaxing. Clean hotel, live music in the bar that night but bar does not serve CARLSBERG which I found hard to believe! Breakfast next morning was to die for, an unlimited amount of food with an incredible amount of varieties. My only real problem was with the receptionist who did not seem to like her job as she barely greeted us and did not explain where anything was, not even our rooms! I had to ask her an awful lot of questions just to get the information she should have readily provided to me. She was in bad humour and wouldnt even crack a smile! As long the receptionist is changed you are guarenteed a lovely stay
Our one night stay at this hotel was very nice & up to standard. The breakfast was fully equiped with everything you could possible eat. Service was very friendly & quick.. We would stay there again.
The Hotel is in good location, in walking distance to the town centre. Double rooms have lots of space, Breakfast and food is very good. Pool is huge and perfect for swimming and the Gym is also great.
excellent hotel, room was very big and very clean. Food in cliosters was very reasonably priced and all staff were very welcoming and helpful will def be going back :)
Hotel was lovely, staff very friendly, food in bar lovely and breakfast fantastic!!! Double beds very small double bed though, thats only complaint.
Hotel ok, bathroom tiles in the room loose, had a small child with me and had to keep her out of there in case she hurt herself. Raised this with reception staff. Long waits in the restaurant, however once received food ok. Leisure centre good & clean. However would not return to the Abbey court.
My wife and I spent three nights in the Abbey Court hotel in July and were well pleased with our stay. The staff were attentive, helpful and friendly with it. The food was excellent and the facilities, especially the swimming pool, were spot on. Our room was comfortable and more to the point, was quiet at night. The Abbey Court also proved a good base for exploring the shores of Lough Derg, Birr Castle and further afield. Excellent value too.
We stayed 1 night on the Lidl deal 1night dinner bed and breakfast. Service was very good and food was excellent. I would recommend this deal. The hotel is looking a little jaded tme for a little make over. Georgina
stayed here on the 2 july 2011 with my wife this is a lovely hotel had the evening meal good value for money and the breakfast was also good staff were very helpfull will go back this is a good place if you want to tour around tipperary lovely grounds around hotel declan & bernie
This is truely an amazing Hotel, I would strongly recommend it to anyone. I stayed here recently on the 17th June 2011 for My sisters wedding, and everything was done to perfection,. Many thanks to all the staff they were amazing especially Ray. Words cannot explain the High Quailty and excellance of this hotel, everything from the food to the hotel rooms and friendly staff were top class. Thanks again xxx All your hard work for my sister & brother in laws wedding was very much appreciated.
I stayed in the hotel for one night bed & breakfast and evening meal. The hotel was perfect for a visit to Nenagh as the walk to the main street was only 10 minutes. The Hotel was beautiful and the staff excellent the evening meal was a three course special menu but could order off main menu for a small charge, the food was excellent and the restaurant staff very friendly, breakfast was a mixture of cooked and pastries and cereals.would definatly stay here again
Excellent value for money. Decor bit dated but that is not a problem. Lovely staff, room and facilities were great. Food lovely. Walking distance to town. Would absolutely recommend it. Thank you.
We were very pleased with the friendliness of all the staff. A nice comfortable stay.
An excellent hotel. Food great, rooms spacious and well maintened. Staff first class.
Hotel Stay was lovely, Staff couldnt of been nicer. we had a lovely meal in the restaurant. 3 courses for 30 each. The Steaks were Yummy. Pool & Jacuzzi were great. Hotel is a bit dated but overall it was a very nice stay.
We had a two night stay in the hotel in feb the service and food was fantastic would higly reccomend it for a value break a few areas could do with minor improvement such as en suite bathroom. Very clean hotel , my husband really enjoyed the pool area.
We really enjoyed our time in Abbey Court. We would like to go there again. Lidl breaks are great value for money. Staff were very friendly.Food was delicious. Rooms were grand and airy.
We had a great weekend recently in the Abbey Court Hotel in Nenagh. From the minute we walked in the door everybody so helpful and friendly. Its such a relaxed atmosphere in this hotel and everybody including guests and staff seem to know each other it was lovely.Breakfast was excellent as was the leisure centre, Our only fault was with the restaurant it was a bit pricey and as a vegetarian there wasn't a great choice, but we are looking forward to a return visit soon. Lynda Watson. Cork
Although this is a 3star hotel , i would defenitally rate it as a 4 star.My wife and I really enjoyed our stay. The food and staff were excellent and the gym and leasure centre was top class.
We had a lovely weekend. The staff in the hotel were very friendly and helpful. We used the gym and pool area. This is a lovely facility but could do with some repairs. The food was fantastic.
Myself and my wife enjoyed a great overnight in the Abbey Court Hotel in Nenagh last weekend. We really enjoyed ourselves particularly the food in the resatarant was fantastic. We used the leisure centre and gym on both days and found them really good. The staff in all areas of the hotel were very friendly and helpful . We would highly recommend this hotel and will no doubt be back. Well done Lidl, really great value!!!!!!
Stayed at the Abbey Court for the two night break with one dinner. Its an old style hotel and the reception was cosy with very friendly staff on reception. It was quite busy with a variety of age groups which was good to see. We found it very difficult to find our rooms as they layout was very strange. I agree with the other reviews regarding the decor which was awful and so dated. Big old fat TV's and decor was so old fashioned. In general the whole hotel could have done with a lick of paint. However on the plus side, the food was superb and deffo four stars. The breakfast was one of the best we've ever had wi. th great variety and the waiting staff were extremely friendly. The pool and leisure facilities were very good. Apart from the bedrooms needing a major overhaul I found the hotel to be very relaxed and friendly and would stay there again.
We had a great time staying at the Abbey Court hotel in Nenagh. The room was a family one and was spacious. The decor and carpet was very tired looking and in need of a makeover. The bathroom has seen better days and would benefit from a refit. The hotel is very impressive as you drive towards it. There was a wedding on each night we stayed and noise could be heard from the guests attending during the early hours. They were outside the hotel and in the room above us was very noisy.I found the restaurant to be very expensive for what you got. We found a better deal and value for money at a nearby pub called Andy's.With two meals purchased you received a bottle of good wine. The swimming pool was a hit with the kids and adults. Overall it is a nice hotel that is impressive from the outside and inside the rooms could certainly do with a redec.
I spent 2 nights at the Abbey Court Hotel with my husband and we had a great weekend. The food was excellent and the rooms very good. Staff were very friendly and Mary on reception is very helpful. No complaints whatsoever and it was extremely good value for money. We spent a lot of time in the Trinity leisure club the pool is brilliant with whirlpools also sauna and steam room. O'Suilibhains pub in the town is a good place to spend an afternoon.
we had an excellent stay at the abbey court hotel would highly recommend it very child friendly great kids club food fab staff very nice and chatty made very welcome thanks to all the staff our stay was excellent value with lidl - breaks will return
Great value hotel, room very comfortable and good food. The bar lets the hotel down, because it is drab, uncomfortable with no atmosphere. I would give it 4 stars
The family room was excellent being both clean and spacious. The hotel is very pleasant. The staff are the most genuinely welcoming I have come across in Ireland. They all enjoyed and engaged our children aged 6 and 3. Where the Hotel failed catastrophically was in the restaurant. I kid you not the food tasted so bad on night one that had it not been that the food was effectively free (included in the package) there is no way we would have dined there again. Giving the chef the benefit of the doubt we went back for more on night two and I am very sorry to report that the standard was of the same barely edible level. For example the children's chicken was burnt, i had a herb coated lamb cut that tasted of burnt oil, the first potato i ate I spat out as it tasted like it had been contaminated with cleaning fluid. Very, very poor food. I had a look at the a la carte prices and I would have been furious if I had been presented with such food. the setting is promising but the food is appalling. Having said all of the above many of my fellow diners when asked if their food was ok seemed sincere when they they said 'yes lovely' etc, so evidently everyone has their own sensibility when it comes to food. Mark my words though, if you have any appreciation of well cooked well seasoned food if the standard is the same as when I visited you are in for a very, very poor meal.
2 adults & 1 toddler Rooms = very dated, cigarette burns in the bed clothes really turned me off dinner offer = menu had a good selection , but when it arrived it was all processed, none of us were able to eat the dinners, desert was nice though Facilities = swimming pool was nice and the sauna/steam room were very good Staff = very nice Breakfast = best thing about the hotel Summary= go in the morning get the breakfast and use the leisure center ..skip the rest
We stayed for one night in a family room at the Abbey Court. Once we checked in, we headed to the pool. The pool has a separate area for younger children and had floaties available for their use. Our room was spacious, it had a double and two single beds, tv, tea/coffee etc. We ate in the main restaurant. There was plenty of choice for the adults on the Lidl menu. The children's menu was excellent with reasonable prices and a good selection. The food was overall excellent. The breakfast the following morning was lovely. There was a good selection of fruit, yoghurt, bread, cereals etc from the buffet and also a good selection of hot food area, which was across the hall from the main restaurant. Overall, we had a great time, lovely staff and very good food. We had stayed at the Abbey Court before and will definitely stay again.
Lovely welcoming staff, very spacious room and meal was excellent. I would stay here again.
We had a wonderful stay at the Abbey Court Hotel. The facilities were excellent and staff were very pleasant. Food was also great. Will definitely be going back to stay there again.
