Highly recommend this hotel for the friendly welcoming and accommodating staff good quality room with coffee machines fluffy towels bathrobes slippers cleanliness and awareness of the need for alcohol liquid around the hotel enjoyed a wonderful massage with resident therapist highly recommend Enjoyed indoor and outdoor jacuzzi
I recently stayed at the hotel I enjoyed my stay and will be back very nice staff food very good room spotlessy clean and and cosy xxx james n mgt
I spent 2 nights at the Glenview to celebrate a special birthday and I had such a lovely time. It was a lovely surprise for me when I arrived that my room has been upgrade to an executive suite and there were lovely chocolates and a card for me in the room also. The food was delicious and the staff so helpful and nice to deal with. Facilities were great too. Enjoyed a relaxing swim and a fabulous facial in the Spa. A very enjoyable and relaxing few days. Thank you Glenview Hotel
Un-courteous 'courtesy caII'- got a courtesy phonecaII asking for credit card detaiIs over the phone at an awkward moment a day or two before arrivaI- unnecessary as we had aIready gave credit card detaiIs onIine and were asked for them again on arrivaI- Notwithstanding, a very nice hoteI, with amazing views and firendIy and poIite staff- An aIright dinner- of the typicaI overcooked and not very heaIthy carvery variety- and a very nice breakfast- definateIy recommended overaII
Rooms were nice, curtains were frayed on our window but lovely views,we ate at the bar, lovely food....we had a beautiful breakfast, the outdoor hot tub was my favourite part, parking is safe and secure.hotel is situated in a good area for travelling wicklows must see areas.....happy allround experience for a 2 night stay.
We recently stayed in the Glenview for my Dads retirement and it was an absolutely fantastic experience. We booked six rooms, all of which were spacious, clean and had beautiful views. The staff were amazing, they facilitated every request and made us feel so welcome. The dinner bed and breakfast package is such great value for money and the staff service and quality of food far exceeded our expectations. This is my second time with the glenview and I will definitely come back. I would recommend for all family occasions as a great hotel to feel comfortable in and be well looked after combined with top quality food and drink. I cannot rate this hotel highly enough - Sinead 08/06/2017
Really enjoyed my stay at the Glenview. This was my third visit and the rooms have been redecorated since I was last there. The hotel is beautiful, food is wonderful and staff are very attentive. The backdrop of the dining room and bar is so spectacular and scenic. 5 stars all round!
Great location...good food...Decor a bit tired....room very noisy...had adjoining room felt like neighbours were in my room...light shone under door from adjoining room also
I cannot fault anything about this hotel....me and my husband had the most amazing stay. The staff could not have been more helpful. Food and entertainment was exceptional. We will most definitely be back. Many thanks to everyone in the Glenview Hotel for your hospitality and to Today FM Breaks. Ruth and Andy
While we enjoyed our stay in the hotel, I did suggest that the dinner menu could be varied more. The same main courses were on offer each night with one variation generally- usually the meat offer. The breakfast could have been kept hotter. We usually had breakfast about 9.30 and the "Full Irish" wasn't hot enough. The bedroom was very nice!
Stayed here for 3 nights during the week. Had a great stay and felt the value for money was excellent. The place was very clean, lovely fires lit during eh day, very relaxed atmosphere and rooms were spacious. The room facilities were excellent. We ate in the restaurant all 3 nights and the food was faultless. Presented very well and very tasty. All staff in the restaurant where very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was good also but i felt there could have been more healthy options e.g granola, selection of yoghurts, seeds etc. The view at breakfast was amazing. We also used the leisure facilities - the gym equipment was a little outdated and the pool was very busy/noisy in the evening time. After breakfast was ok though. I was also a little annoyed to see the hot tub to have a sign saying 'cold' on it. We went for lovely walk through the gardens which was lovely also and the location was great.
Enjoyed our night in the Glenview Hotel. Receptionist very pleasant and welcoming. Had a very tasty meal in the bar. Room very comfortable. Would stay there again.
I stayed here with my wife. Our impression as we stayed for a few nights was that here is that its lacking Investment, Management and Supervision., Standards for a 4 star have slipped. Food that was on the menu wasn't available for two nights. (Duck and Lamb) Some tables weren't wiped and empty glasses were not removed from some of the dining tables or the drawing room. The mirror in the bathroom had toilet paper wedged in between the lower frame and tiles and the furniture is tired and worn and in some areas needs replacing. Some guests we spoke to complained of having no water in their room and we had no coffee capsules replaced for our coffee machine. Some guests that stayed here were questioned why they hadn't booked a table for dinner. Seriously? Outside the trees that obscure the beautiful views could be topped. The roof in the swimming pools needs replacing and there was no Hot Tub available. I found a disposable razor beside the jacuzzi and kids were playing near this. There was no ventilation in the rooms and windows had to be kept opened. There are maintenance issues galore in your beautiful hotel but its lack proper Supervision and Management. I wish you well into the future.
We had a lovely 1 night stay here and while the service was good, the views were good and the hotel was good, the meal we had on Sunday night in the restaurant was one of the best meals we have ever eaten anywhere in the world. I asked the waitress what nationality the Chef was because we were so impressed with the food. Well done to all the kitchen staff for our 5 star food.
Lovely hotel. Would not have a single complaint apart from 2 days was not long enough. Excellent value for money. Facilities superb
Great stay! Lovely staff!
Nice hotel in a lovely setting. Staff nice and helpful with any queries we had. Breakfast had a good selection of food and everything was piping hot. Enjoyed the pool too. Would return again. I particularly liked the cat in the porch.
My wife and I stayed at the Glenview Hotel for one night B & B plus evening meal conmencing on Friday Jan 29 2016. Excellent food and accommodation. Staff very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.
Excellent service, rooms lovely. Warm and friendly staff
Pleasant experience. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was very neat and kept to high standard. Breakfast was very good.
My sister and I really enjoyed our 1 night stay in the Glenview on Sunday 29 November, 2015. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the room was very comfortable and well equipped. The food, both for dinner and breakfast was delicious. We loved the cosy feeling of the place, the setting is beautiful and the cat is a BIG attraction. It's a great place to just chill out and as my sister is suffering from cancer at the moment, it was particularly relaxing for her. We hope to be back soon.
The hotel was not worthy of a 4 star rating. Our room 118 had a lot of problems, poor tv reception , weak internet connection very wobbly table wallpaper badly torn . the restaurant in the bar was tot aly inadequate and the main restaurant upstairs only open on the Sunday night,Lidl customers had to pay a supplement to dine there. No television room and only television was in the bar cum dining room which was turned off or no sound My main complaint was the towels were a disgrace, they were dirty grey/white and hard and totally unacceptable. We did fill in a report on these complaints before leaving. whilst the hotel is set in beautiful surroundings, it was agreat disappointment for our first Lidl Break. We do not want our name or address on your website
We stayed in the Glenview for one night and after an unfortunate incident with the shower head in our room we were immediately and with absolutely no fuss moved in to the Presidential Suite. The suite was gorgeous, extremely spacious and the bathroom was fabulous. The food in the Conservatory Bar was lovely and the prices very reasonable. We found all the staff to be very helpful and friendly and I would have no hesitation in staying again.
Excellent hotel. Good facilities. Superb location. Some Staff attentive - not overly so - some could be friendlier - But it was a very busy weekend.. The dining room has a spectacular view of a Glen/Woods. And the food was delicious..both at dinner & breakfast. Plenty of choice at breakfast The bar is not very welcoming and maybe could do with the layout being looked at. Very child friendly. The beauty therapist (Shirley) was very good & pleasant. Good value break & if you get an early bird meal - even better. As we don't have children - we probably wouldn't stay again especially not for a romantic break..And when we arrived it wasn't very welcoming - it seemed the world & it's Mother had descended for Mothers' day..hence dropping a star on the rating
Enjoyed our recent stay very much, very comfortable room, good food and and lovely location. the dining room very 'nice' lovely views from the panoramic windows.
I stayed in the Glenview for an overnight with three of my friends. Staff very helpful and friendly. Rooms beautiful, food was not great and not much of a choice for breakfast. Overall good value for the money we paid. I would recomment that the hotel look at upgrading there food menu and more of a choice at breakfast.
Fantastic hotel. Staff are excellent and make you feel so welcome and looked after. Comfortable rooms, plenty of choice for food and drinks in a relaxing environment. Love this place - would highly recommend!
Stayed 3 nights this week - very enjoyable time. Beautiful location and stunning views from room and dining-room. Staff were all really lovely, helpful and attentive without being pushy! Such a "Chill-Out" location both inside and in the beautiful grounds - a total oasis of calm! Location so accessible to Dublin, all of Wicklow and great places close by. 10 out of 10 all round!
Exceptionally friendly staff. Fantastic location. Quality of food is first rate. Well equipped leisure centre. Best value for money.
An excellent hotel with excrllent service & food. Couldn't do enough for the patrons.
I stayed in the Glenview Hotel on Friday 16th May with five friends. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay from the moment we arrived to the moment we departed. We ate in the fabulous restaurant with stunning views, brilliant menu and wonderful helpful service. We also had our breakfast in this wonderful room with stunning views. Overall it was a lovely stay and we will be returning soon. A big thank you to all the staff at Glenview.
Just spent 3 days at Glenview Hotel in Delgany Wicklow, the hotel was excellent our room was lovely it overlooked the garden. The staff were very helpful and friendly, I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a restful break, lovely surroundings and a great leisure facilities G. Thompson
We enjoyed our stay in the Glenview. Our room was lovely with a beautiful view across the valley. We enjoyed the Leisure Centre which is a really good one. We had a very enjoyable evening meal which in my view was just a little bit pricey. I think a lot of hotels overcharge for meals and this one is no exception. The staff were very pleasant and helpful as were the reservation staff. Thank you Mary Walsh
The Hotel was very clean and nice .The rooms were nice and big and the staff all over the hotel were very nice >The pool and Gym were lovely and clean and the walks around the hotel are super .Id stay here again no probs >Thanks to all at the Glenview Hotel :) ;)
great stay, staff were perfect, huge bedrooms with great view of the glen as requested room 204 magical. food great . it had it all the . the hot tub ended a perfect day. a really amazing good value stay, recommend to anyone.
Staff were excellent and very present. Very good location and nice relaxing atmosphere.
i would not recommend staying in the glen view on the lidl breaks the dinner was not nice it is served in the bar carmel
had a lovely break for our birthdays, away form the kids. Very easy to get to, just off the N11, beautiful surroundings and great food. Treat yourself to some Spa treatments. We had fabulous weather and enjoyed sipping our wine in the lovely gardens
The staff couldn't have done more for us - Very friendly and helpful. The rooms (we booked 3) were spotless, well maintained had everything including safes, Ironing facilities and Tea / Coffee. All our meals were piping hot, well presented and excellent. The view is stunning and drinks very reasonably priced. We wanted for nothing and thoroughly enjoyed our weekend away with our neighbours. Well done to all at the Glenview. ten out of ten.
Excellent
The room we stayed in was large and comfortable. The staff were helpful. There is a pool, sauna, steamroom and jacuzi which were all good amenities. The gardens on the grounds are beautiful. We had dinner in the dining area near the bar. The food here was fairly nice, but nowhere near as good as it is in their restaurant upstairs, (where we dined a few months ago) which wasn't open the night we stayed. Overall, it is a good location to stay.
Had a great time .Room spotless a little old fashioned, staff brilliant,Dinner could have been better a little expensive for what you were given far to small.Entertainment excellent, hope to return.
Loved this hotel. Stayed here for a night last weekend and couldn't fault it. Staff are so friendly , in fact they are the nicest staff I've came across in a hotel yet. Pool is fab! Dinner was incredible, the portion sizes are huge!! Just love the hotel will defo be back, cant recommend the hotel high enough!!
Had a lovely night in the Glenview, the food was excellent and service great . Only negative is that the rooms and some other areas of the hotel need a bit of doing up , the bathroom in particular in our room was in quite bad shape , but overall we enjoyed our stay
Had a great weekend here. Lovely hotel, perfect for families.
wonderful, restful stay, great food and service.
Review by Lorraine on 22.02.2014 Lovely hotel in very scenic setting. Very friendly and efficient staff. Our room was very clean and with very comfortable beds for a great nights sleep. We eat in the Woodlands restaurant and the food was well presented, and the service was good. There was also a good selection of choices of foods for breakfast the following morning. The pool facilities were very good with steam-room, sauna and outdoor hot tub. There is a lovely wood land walk outside the surrounds of the hotel, which takes in some lovely gardens. This hotel is also very child friendly for families. I will definitely return for a repeat visit, some time in the near future.
Felt totally relaxed and pampered, looking forward to visiting again.
I recently spent a two day break with my mum at the Glenview hotel. My Mum was very impressed with the size of the room. Service and food was very good.. My only regret is I should have taken a longer break. I would stay here again.
Kids really enjoyed the pool and breakfast. Great family break!
Lovely hotel food was great supplament for a steak dinner was a bit pricey but I would recommend this hotel
Nice hotel and lovely helpful staff. We had dinner in the restaurant which was very good except for the desserts, they were very disappointing. It's not the best breakfast I've ever eaten either.
We really enjoyed our stay, food was great, and staff very good. Reallly comfortable beds. Very good value.
lovely hotel, food is great but won't be going back. we left are room early that morning, because are room was freezing. my boyfriend and i both woke at different times of the night thinking are window was open. we had the blanket out of the wardrobe, and i went out to the car to get a heavy jumper to sleep in. we were looking forward to going for a swim the following morning, but the thought of been cold for another minute made me feel sick.
Excellant hotel in a beautiful location very close to dublin city centre avoca wicklow.. Staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. Food was really good well prepared and served in a lovely setting.
Beautiful Hotel, food was excellent, service was excellent, we both had a great time. Highly recommended if your looking for nice break. Would certainly return.
We stayed on Saturday 23rd November 2013 for 1 night and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Every member of staff that we encountered during our stay were friendly, courteous and extremely professional. Our rooms were very nice and clean and nothing we ask for was a problem. Our stay was for a special occasion and it really turned out to be just that. We would recommend the Glenview Hotel to anyone and we will definitely be returning. 4 star
Top class and extremely good value for money!
Very friendly staff, magnificent food, highly recommended.
the glenview hotel is in a stunning location and we could find no fault with the hotel except room was cold when arrived, food was very good and staff helpful and friendly, leisure centre also very good, would love to go back there again.
We were very impressed with our stay. not only with the value but also with the staff. we would be very happy to stay again and recommend the hotel to our friends
Really had a lovely stay in glen view hotel .staff were so friendly and helpful .food was lovely. Will be back to this hotel again.
We enjoyed our stay in the Glenview hotel very much. The room was spacious and lovely and the view of the Glen amazing. The pool and Gym facilities worked a dream for us also. Staff very helpful and friendly. Thank you!
myself and my Husband stayed here to celebrate our 10th anniversary. we availed of the dinner b+b package. hotel was inviting and warm from the moment we arrived. room was spotless and sufficient to our requirements although quite small. lunch at the buffet was lovely and dinner in the restaurant that evening was delicious, I chose the nut coated cod and my Husband had fillet steak. only complaint was the very long wait for the steak, it was however worth the wait!! the staff were so nice and helpful throughout the entire hotel!! we made use of both the pool and health spa and were very impressed!! the woodland walk through the hotel garden is a must, it's just beautiful, it does'nt take long and suits everyone regardless of fitness level or age. I honestly can't find any real fault with this hotel and we will certainly be going back, next time we'll take the kids, it's very child friendly! it's also a great base to explore the surrounding area from, I'd highly recommend this area to walkers as it's a walkers paradise and all within a few minutes drive of the hotel.
We enjoyed our recent stay in the Glenview. Staff were very helpful, polite and pleasant. We had 1 evening meal included in our deal and it was excellent. Great selection on the menu. Have stayed here a couple of times already and look forward to visits in the future.
Got a top floor room with a view as requested. Very comfortable and friendly hotel with leisure centre. Breakfast was great, and dinner was in restaurant was first class. We really enjoyed our break in Glenview Hotel.
Most stunning meal I've ever had in a hotel, was top restaurant quality!
Nice hotel with very accommodating staff! Great location for the Sugarloaf, Powerscourt and Glendalough.
Recently stayed here with my family, lovely hotel in a beautiful setting. Room was lovely, comfortable & clean. We enjoyed the food & service was good, staff very friendly. Kids used the pool on a daily basis, twice a day in fact. Very relaxing for us adults too. Will definitely recommend to friends & family. Also in a great location for visiting all the popular sights.
My wife and I stayed in the Glenview last weekend and would love to have been able to extend our stay. The hotel and grounds are the perfect getaway for a relaxing holiday. It is also a great location for touring all the beautiful sights in Co Wicklow. The room was very comfortable and quiet, the views from the room were of the Glen O the Downs and completely breathtaking, as was the view from the restaurant. I would have no hesitation in recommending the hotel and we will definitely return soon again.
Excellent. The Haven treatments were wonderful and staff were lovely. Would definitely recommend them. All staff in the hotel were very friendly and helpfull. Restaurant had fantastic food and wonderful views.
I had a one night stay in the Glenview Hotel with my Mam and my 5 year old son last weekend. It was fantastic, very relaxing, beautiful grounds, great pool, lovely restaurant reasonably priced with fantastic food and fabulous view. All the staff were very friendly and helpful and very kind to my son Jack who loves to chat to everyone. They had time for him even though they were busy. Special mention for Monica, Jo and Santa. We'll definitely go back again. Linda
We booked into this hotel for a wedding, I could not fault the hotel. The staff were fantastic and no request was a problem. We had dinner here on the second night and it was exceptional. I would have no hesitation going back to this hotel it was fantastic.
Stayed here on a Saturday night in June. Staff were really lovely, friendly & helpful. Room was on the small side but clean and very comfy bed. Also shower was excellent! Such a picturesque location, I'd highly recommend it. Great leisure centre too, sadly I never got any spa treatment but there's always next time! Definitely a drive to location.
We had a lovely stay in Glenview We are definitely going back First Class Hotel
WONDERFUL HOTEL IN A MAGICAL SETTING .VERY FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL STAFF
A friend and myself spent last weekend in the Glenview Hotel and were very happy with our stay there. The staff were generally helpful and good humoured. The room was nice enough though there was nothing outstanding about it. We were informed that dressing gowns were only provided in executive rooms, which was surprising for a four star hotel. We had an evening meal in the restaurant which was delicious and the staff there were very helpful. We also had spa treatments which were great value and thoroughly enjoyable. The health centre is excellent and includes an outdoor hot tub which we made good use of. Because the weather was so good we were able to enjoy the beautiful gardens which was a real asset. Although we had a lovely stay we were a bit disappointed when paying our bill, that the lady on reception did not ask us if we had a nice stay or that she hoped to see us again, which we feel is always a nice touch. Having said that, however, we will be returning to the Glenview Hotel as we had a very relaxing stay and it is no distance from Dublin.
Stayed over the June Bank Holiday weekend. Bedroom and bathroom were fantastic, very comfortable, quiet and very sizeable. Food was excellent and cooked buffet breakfast in the morning brilliant. Staff were also good, very helpful and friendly. HOWEVER one important point and it is a negative - when we arrived at the hotel our Lidl-Breaks reservation number was not on their system (they put it down to human error) We were lucky in that there were other rooms available but imagine if they were full! So my advice, if you book via Lidl-Breaks also contact the hotel to ensure your reservation is recognized and and on their system. Other than that I recommend this hotel as a quality place to stay.
Room was lovely & dinner in woodlands restaraunt was really nice. Service was excellent
Stayed in the Glenview on 4th of May and it was really lovely. The check-in was smooth and the staff were very friendly. We had dinner in the resturant and it was beautiful. There was some entertainment in the bar afterwards which we really enjoyed. All in all a really lovely stay was had at the Glenview and we can't wait to return.
Lovely Hotel with amazing food and very friendly staff. i will definitely go back again.
Lovely stay. Gorgeous food in the bar and great value. 2 courses for €21.
Room was lovely, with a great view! Staff were very helpful and friendly. The food in the restaurant was fine, but quite plain and not a great choice on the menu. Despite this I would definitely stay again! Very relaxing.
great one night stay. everything perfect. room, food, service. highly recommend.
For a quiet weekend surrounded by luxury its perfect!! Friendly and helpful staff and beautiful rooms. Would stay here again.
For a quiet weekend surrounded by luxury its perfect!! Friendly and helpful staff and beautiful rooms. Would stay here again.
Stayed April 2013. Lovely hotel friendly staff. Food really good. Leisure centre very nice. Take your runners to walk in woodlands around hotel,
We had a nice stay for Mothers Day at the hotel, There were positves and negatives but it was value for money We checked in at 2 which was fine, We were given room 231 and personally I feel that room should definitely be high on priority list for overhaul. The ceiling on right hand side of room and wall all way down to radiator was disgraceful. It appears there must have been a very bad flood from upstairs room and it destroyed the walls, looks awful and I wouldnt rent this room out at all, but I suppose we all have different standards. I also had requested a window seat for dinner on the Sunday night and yet we were told dinner was bar menu only and Woodlands restaurant doesnt open on Sunday night yet when i spoke to receptionist two weeeks before she never mentioned this.. We were actually looking forward to a meal in restaurant and not bar as it looked lovely from the website. Having said that the food was lovely in the bar, the starters were ok but main which was steak was perfect. Given it was Mothers Day it would have been nice to have our meal in the restaurant. The leisure centre is lovely - very clean and lovely facilities, the staff were lovely in this hotel. The views from the hotel were great and we finally got to have breakfast in the Woodlands restaurant. Breakfast was lovely - nice and hot and plenty of it. All in all we had a nice stay and it is value for money but there are other hotels on Lidl breaks offering a better standard
We spent 2 nights in the Glenview Hotel last weekend. Can't fault the place on anything. The staff were so friendly, the place was spotlessly clean and the food was lovely. We were even lucky with the weather which made the views and gardens even more stunning.
Unfortunately three days before we were due at the glenveiw we received a call to say they had overbooked the hotel. They put us in th royal hotel in bray which was not up to standard. The first room was an attic room with barely room for a Bed!!!!!! We had to ring the glenveiw and complain and we were then moved to a better room. Food was nothing to write home about and overall an overnight stay that was a break from our two babies the first in two years was disappointing . This had been booked since before Xmas as a present so I don't understand the overbooking element. Not a good experience
Good food, attentive restaurant staff, but the hotel was chilly.
we found the staff on the desk friendly and helpful the room was a lovely size , the tv did not work to well in our room also the houeskeeping of the room was not good the room was not hoovered in the 3 days of our stay and it had not been hoovered under the tables in quiet a while, also the window frame was filthy and all the wood work in the room was dusty to the point the dust was like fluff also the table in our room was not dusted either it was so bad i cleaned it myself we had food on of the nights of our stay it was not hot enough i had the burger and chips the chips were frozen chips not good enough when the price was 15 euro and a few cent i dont mind paying but not for frozen chips we had a lovely waiter in the morning time at breakfast an indian gentle man a small man i forgot to get his name he was so helpfull he should be aknowledged for this we would stay again but we would not accept houeskeeping standerds likes this again i understand in times like these may be staffing is cut to the bone but if thats the case it is showing in the house keeping area the lift was filthy to and the stair case Warm Regards Liz kierans Goff Noel Goff
Excellent Hotel. We really enjoyed our stay. Thye hotel was gorgeous. The pool was lovely and warm which meant our 2 year old daughter could spend ages in the hotel playing. The walks around hotel fab and the food was amazing. Really enjoyed our stay. Staff friendly and helpful, Joan and Dave
Have stayed here on a couple of occasions recently - twice with a friend for a girls night away (from the kids!) also with my husband and children. Had a great time every time - leisure centre, bar, restaurant all lovely and food great only complaint recently was the outdoor hot tub not working but no big deal. Pool great for kids. Could not ask for any more from a 4star hotel. Views and atmosphere lovely. Will definitely return.
stayed here for a wedding last weekend. room was lovely, although a bit chilly. And also it was after 4pm before we could check in. the food was amazing and the staff were really helpful. lovely hotel, would stay again
Really enjoyed our stay in the Glenview. Great value and the staff were fantastic. The food was excellent. Only complaint was our room was quite small and a little dated/shabby. Overall we really enjoyed the hotel and the surrounding area. Would definitely come back.
we had a great stay hotel beautiful staff very helpful ,our room was upgraded which was fantastic, looking forward to our next visit rating four star
SPENT A NIGHT HERE WITH 2 TEENAGERS AND HUSBAND. TICKED ALL THE BOXES .FOOD FAB. POOL REALLY WARM. FAB WALKS WOULD DEFINITELY RETURN HERE ALSO LIVELY. ANN CO MEATH
Found the hotel clean but not very modern staff were very polite and helpfull food was excellent and resonable we had three rooms booked and really enjoyed ourselfs would go back again
stayed at this hotel for two nights, very pleased we stayed here.the rooms were big and beautifully decorated, the breakfast was very nice and plenty of choice, even though there was a ball on the night we stayed it never kept us awake or disturbed our sleep.we would highly recommend this hotel
The glenview hotel was fine. The rooms were lovely, though we had no view to speak of. The hotel itself was shabby, but clean. The staff was lovely and very helpful and attentive at all times. Breakfast was nothing to write home about. Standard fare. All in all we enjoyed our stay, Leisure facilities were nice. Pool lovely and warm and also very clean. Would recommend for an overnight.
Great value family break at the Glenview Hotel. The staff were excellent and very friendly. Good location for touring Wicklow. The woodlands walk was just long enough for the kids & the leisure centre was well used during our stay. The only negatives were the family room was on the small side and the bar food / restaurant menus could do with more options. The food was delicious though.. We'll definitely return for another family break.
Very nice hotel and good value for money. Breakfast was very substantial and pool and sauna and outdoor hottub were very appreciated.
I visited the Glenview on Jan 25th for a 2 night stay with my 2 sisters and my mother. The rooms were clean and comfortable although the tvs could do with updating and the bathroom in one of the rooms also required maintenance. We ate in the bar on the first night , choosing the 3 course option. We also ordered wine. The standard of food was quite mixed. My starter was excellent whilst my sister's was average. The mains were nice but the steaks were not exactly cooked to liking. The desserts were also mixed. My mother ordered a cheesecake, which was delicious whilst my choice of gateaux was very average. The wine, however, was very nice and very good value! On our way back to our room I popped into the restaurant to request a table next to the window for our meal the following evening. The meal had been booked weeks in advance. I was very put out by the response I got. I was told that would be impossible as the restaurant would be "very busy ." No apology was made. I left feeling very put out. The next evening we arrived for our meal at 8pm. We were shown to our seats almost immediately and given menus promptly. The starters we ordered were lovely , everyone was happy, though I felt the €3 supplement for the prawns was steep considering the quality. The mains were enjoyed although my beef was lukewarm which took from the experience as I paid a €7 supplement!! We retired to the bar after our meal. The barman was very inexperienced. He served lukewarm white wine to my sister and didn't seem to know what a brandy glass was!! Overall we had a pleasant stay at the Glenview. It was good value but I think customer service could be improved and perhaps the hotel is in need of some updating .
Highly recommend this hotel , it lives up to its star rating , excellent services from cleaning staff right up to management , spotless and very comfortable rooms , excellent food and lovely spa area
This was my second visit here in alomost as many months. Some of the best staff I have come across, they cannot do enough for their guests. This Hotel is so close to Dublin it makes it an ideal overnight location for people justing wanting a night away. Great Food. I know that I will be back again
Excellent hotel with beautiful scenery.Food in the bar was very nice and also staff are very friendly and helpful.
Hotel was excellent lovely friendly staff food top notch only downside rooms a little chilly although very clean would love to visit again in the summer facility's great lovely location very accsessible stunning views
My wife and I enjoyed our two night stay at the hotel. The pool was Really nice and our dinner was tasty despite having limited choice For vegetarians. The setting is scenic and we liked the woodlands walk. The bed was big and very comfortable and the room a good size.
this is a beautiful Hotel, Food lovely and staff very friendly.
We recently stayed for one night only with our 5 & 7yr old, our room was not ready at 3pm when we arrived but we received complimentary afternoon tea and drinks for the children in the bar which was nice. When our room was ready it was 1 double bed, 1 single bed and a camping bed even though a family room had been booked so space was tight! The pool was great and our kids had great fun, the staff couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. We would stay there again if only for the great staff. RVV
Hotel was lovely , kids had a great time in the pool . The only thing I didn't like was asked for a family room for 2 adults and 2 children . The room had only a double bed and one single they put in a fold up bed but the room was to small for us . Breakfast was lovely . Would stay here again.
Good hotel, nice food nice place to stay and relax. Welcoming staff.
Stayed with my wife and two kids (3 and a half, and 5 months) overnight B&B - was a lovely break ... family room was spacious and comfortable, the swimming pool was excellent and the food was lovely. Breakfast was mix of cereals, fresh fruit and hot food (sausages, rashers, eggs, etc.) and I must acknowledge the one of the serving staff , particularly a very nice lady who was very good with our 3.5 year old - bring him up for weetabix, then orange juice, then fruit, then yoghurt ... :-) All in all a very nice breakaway and highly recommended. Thanks, J.
Thank You we had a realy lovely time . Staff accomadation and food was realy lovely. Well worth a visit . Would go again .
There was six of us staying in the Hotel last weekend. The food and service was good but on three occasions I complained about our room being cold. When we arrived, when we came back from the leisure centre, and when we came back to our room after dinner. The other two couples had the same problem.Very disappointing first time in the Hotel.! Excelllent venue, lovely food and a nice atmosphere. I've been recommending this hotel to everyone! I'm taking one star off because we were given a double room when I booked a twin, but when I told the reception they sorted it in minutes. The swimming pool was closed for repairs but apart from that I found the Glenview Hotel to be excellent.
Recently enjoyed a very pleasant stay at the Glenview Hotel, the bedroom was very comfortable, the evening meal in the restaurant was excellent quality and we also received excellent service from the staff in the restaurant. The staff overall were very friendly, efficient and helpful, and we will definately return to this hotel in the near future.
This hotel exceeded all my expectations. The staff were fantastic, so friendly and helpful. The food was amazing more 5 star than 4. I will certainly return to this hotel at a later date.
Only there one day but very enjoyable I can't flaw anything.Food top class.Pleasant and helpful staff.Hope to have a longer stay soon.
We had a lovely stay in the Glenview. All the staff without exception were fabulous. Accommodation and hotel facilities were very good. The only negative I had was with the bar. It was not in keeping with the ambience of the rest of the hotel. There was no atmosphere and the seating was very uncomfortable. I t was aptly name "The Conservatory" as it was not suited to a bar. I will return again.
I had a most enjoyable stay recently in the Glenview Hotel. I booked it trrough Lidl breaks which made it exceptional value. Everything about the stay was top class. The staff were wonderful and did everything they could to make our stay an enjoyable one. The food was delicious, from breakfast, to bar lunch and a beautiful dinner served in the beautiful Woodlands Restaurant. We also made great use of the leisure centre and enjoyed the woodland walk which is part of the grounds of the hotel. I couldn't fault this hotel in any way and I will definitely return. Thank you Lidl for making it possible at a very reasonable price.
Lovely staff, great facilities and beautiful views.
Hotel rooms very basic. Decoration in need of some attention. However, food is fantastic, views are spectacular and price is very reasonable. Entertainment both for adults and children is very good.
Stayed for a nights dinner bed and breakfast with my sister and my parents and we were very happy with the hotel. The food in the restaurant for dinner was top notch, the beds super comfortable and all the staff were very friendly. Can't wait to go back!
Location fantastic. Room very comfortable with great view. Staff friendly and attentive. Very enjoyable stay.
Had a fantastci stay, Staff so friendly and helpful, Cosy hotel with character, would recommend this hotel to anyone, Our room was cosy clean and well decorated, we had a balcony so had a lovely view, Staff went out of their way to make my 3 year old feel welcome which was fantastic. Only thing I could fault is the bar menu, it is over priced and not a menu one would expect to find in a bar, it meant we ate out alot during the day, However their breakfast is fantastic and the food in the restaurant is wonderful.
We stayed over the Bank holiday weekend, 6th May, for 1 night, meal included. Apart from our main course in the restaurant,( mine was seabass, very dried up, my husband's was medallions of beef, very tough,) it was a very pleasant stay. Spectacular views over the Glen o the Downs.Good value if the food had been better.
The Glenview Hotel is a bit old fashioned in spite of the fact that it had a makeover recently. The nicest room was the Dining room upstairs on the first floor level with its commanding views over Glen' the downs. The room we originally got was to the back of the hotel with very poor aspect. We asked for a change of room to one with a view. The Hotel happily obliged as they were quie.t The view was spectacular. The food deal meant we had dinner upstairs on the first night of our 2 night stay. It was a €30 menu for two courses. The food was generally alright. Unfortunately the second night was a Monday night and the upstairs restaurant was closed. We ate in the downstairs bar which lacked athmosphere. I thought that some of the staff were a little under trained and were not over happy with their job. The leisure centre was a little dissappointing .
