As always we had an amazing time at Pilo Hotel. Staff is helpful, food absolutely fantastic, Richard, the manager ,always there to make the guests fill special!!! Thank you
Myself and my partner had the pleasure of staying in this hotel. The hotel is really lovely and the staff are friendly. The food was also amazing. They were very understanding and helpful with regards to the need for a gluten-free food. Very impressed with everything.
Very clean hotel....staff extremely helpful and friendly...food fab
Lovely stay. Nice vibe. Staff very helpful. Richard, Aaron and Rita went over and above. Great for a family stay. ????
Very friendly and helpful staff throughout the hotel. Very clean and comfortable room. Great selection at breakfast. Kids indoor play area and out door play area were a nice touch for the kids. The family room we had, was showing some signs of wear and tear but not a big issue.
Lovely hotel. Very friendly and professional staff.
Very clean, nice big room helpful staff
Lovely hotel with a great spa and pool enjoyed the night , breakfast a little disappointing. Overall good value.
While hotel was great changing room in swimming pool need a lot of attention very disappointed in customer service emailed lost property 2 weeks ago still no reply not good enough
The hotel is nice and pleasant, very nice room with all mod cons. Reception staff very friendly, Restaurant staff friendly, however, they are not particularly attentive and shy away from anything they might see and could do,unless they are asked. The manager does tell them what to do but doesn't help them doing it so no leading by example but just barking orders, the food needs a bit of updating and I found a bit of paper in the dessert, obviously it was just been rolled out of its packaging. Alarm went off in the middle of the night and when we were ready to leave the room,it stopped, no explanation given. When used the pool ,staff at reception we are talking to themselves without even acknowledging that we were there or even saying hello can I help you. The pool is ok changing room need a huge revamp as they are falling apart, mould and cracks. Overall I would stay again but the expectations are cheap and cheerful that's all
Lovely hotel, bar, food, pool, small kids playground, family really enjoyed and will b back, room was fab but room temp was 28 all night, we got a fan but still way to hot, couldn't sleep, also asked when booking for a room with a bath as we don't have a bath at home but only shower in the room. Obviously know that was only a suggestion, def be back though lovely hotel
Very good hotel
Great hotel and accommodation was 5/5 and food was amazing. We definitely be coming back.
Fab hotel, spotless and food was lovely. Cocktails were fab & staff were great. Would return.
The reception area was beautiful and food in the time restaurant was beautiful but really need to update bedrooms . They could also be cleaner ours stunk of cigarettes which made time spent in our bedroom unpleasant
Fantastic hotel and very clean throughout, staff where very helpful and the food was really good. The pool was good but the changing rooms are very run down and in need of a makeover.
abousoulty beautiful hotel staff very friendly and welcoming would highly recommend it
First night away with our 3 month old ,lovely hotel, lovely food ,staff were very kind nothing was to much for them. If you book family room there was no cot so bring your own travel cot just wish we knew that before hand.
breakfast could be much warmer
Thank you to all the staff at the hotel. Very pleasant staff, fab room, comfortable bed and beautiful breakfast.
Absolutely Phenomenal service! Couldn't have done more for us; and we couldn't be happier! Beautiful rooms and tasty food. Will definitely be returning.
A group of us stayed at the hotel. We enjoyed the pool, food. A very enjoyable stay. Staff were very nice.
A wee gem tucked away at a busy roundabout, fabulous facilities and beautiful food.
Very nice modern, clean hotel. Staff extremely friendly( especially the manager in the restaurant)
Very clean hotel..staff polite and friendly..food delicious..
Very accomdating lovely staff
Had a lovely stay at the pillo Hotel. Very clean and very friendly staff. Would definitely return as like many visits before. One observation was the staff are young in the restaurant /bar, very polite but could do with more support and training from senior staff. Quite a few orders were wrong and bill had to be revised. I'm sure covid had alot to do with above issue, It didn't bother our group as we were delighted to get a night out. A credit to their families just need guidance on the restaurant floor by restaurant mgr.
Absolutely beautiful hotel and lovely people .getting married there soon
the staff were excellent and very friendly and helpful. the food was great and the breakfast of the full Irish was brilliant and they had many other choices as well .the location of the hotel is great close to Dublin ,the m2 and m50 motorways .I would stay again
Lovely stay in the Pillo Hotel and the food was amazing ???? Will be back again
We had a lovely stay in this hotel . Staff were very friendly upon arrival and the staff in bar and restaurant were great too. The food was gorgeous , we all really enjoyed our meal and have told many friends and family about it . Great deal for January and would definitely go back again.
Stayed at this hotel before covid, and always loved it, but found it ran down a bit, press in room was broken. There wallpaper was tore, the locker rooms at the swimming pool need a paint very bad only 1 private changing room in it, food was nice and staff very friendly, kids had a great time in the playroom
This hotel never disappoints. We stayed for 1 night. The pool was warm, the food was great, the staff were very nice and the beds were comfy. We will stay again.
Beautiful hotel lovely spacious rooms food was lovely to dinner and breakfast I will return next time hopefully pool be open..
We had a lovely stay. We had breakfast and lunch in hotel which were amazing no faults. We will be back as we had a great stay
Loved every minute there food and drink was amazing especially with the amount you got for the rate of room included we were very happy about that matter only reason I didn't give 5 stars was because I booked because of the pool then later see the pool was not actually open was just for the kids Other than that was great we will definitely be back again
Enjoyable stay. Lovely breakfast ???? Staff very nice .
Hotel was lovely, spotless, social distancing evident and compliant with vaccine passports. I was however very disappointed the pool was not open. When enquiring about the booking procedure, I was informed it was shut and informed I should of been contacted by the reservations team about this. Unfortunately I was not which was disappointing
Excellent hotel ,rooms large and food beautiful ???????? will definitely go again.
Beautiful lobby and common areas. Food was not great- bar staff was lacklustre with the exception of a lovely woman who was obviously picking up the slack for the others. Room was ok, but shower was a trickle and the divan bases were badly stained. Drawers and outlets were broken. It was fine for one night, but I would have been sorely disappointed had we paid more than €100 for the night.
The hotel was beautiful, the room we're too, bed was so comfortable. The staff we're so friendly and helpful. The only problem I had was the swimming pool was freezing and the changing room was full of mold it was disgusting. I'd never go swimming there again.
Lovely hotel, we were very happy with our rooms. High standard. The staff was most helpful. We enjoyed a swim, so relaxing. The food was excellent very enjoyable. I will be back in January.
Hotel was spotless , staff were brilliant , food was delicious . No complaints whatsoever about this hotel . We will definitely be back to stay here again .
Great value for money will definitely be back Food was lovely restaurant staff every helpful Swimming was great for my daughter
Room wasn't cleaned properly. Ordered steak for the meal and it was burnt
Lovely hotel enjoyed our stay. Will be going back again, went Friday Saturday night was very busy, would like to go mid week.
Great location 5 mins to tayto park and less than half an hour to Dublin City Staff were very good, food in bar/restaurant was excellent and was on the table within a few minutes. Family Bedroom was nice although air con was not working so room was warm even though it was October. Swimming pool is 1.35mt everywhere so not great for kids to big for the baby pool and not much room for adults looking to do a few lengths. All in all a decent hotel. Value for money
Fabulous hotel from arrival to departure, food lovely, friendly staff, clean and nice rooms. Breakfast service was abit hectic they need to organise themselves better. Would definitely return
Very enjoyable family get together. Enjoyed the pool with grandkids. Made use of the playground for grandkids. Great breakfast. Bedrooms are large, just need some updating. Have been a few times to this hotel. Will be going back.
Great hotel, staff very friendly and helpful, food was lovely, would definitely stay again.
Lovely hotel ,spotless clean large rooms ,Very friendly and helpful staff especially in the bar/restaurant areas and lovely fresh food ,Overall we couldn't fault it and would highly recommend .
clean hotel staff very friendly and professional would be nice if they had a more range of the food menu on offer
No chargers for electric vehicle
Great hotel for family break. Kids loved the pool. Great food and bar
Reception an cleaning staff amazing however bar staff an waitress staff slightly rude .
Very friendly staff. Delicious food. Leisure centre. Excellent value.
Beutiful hotel , staff are lovely , would definitely recommend
excellent hotel lovely food and very friendly staff great breakfast we will be staying here again only 2 small things maybe a bottle of water in rooms and some shampoo and soap in pool area showers other than that excellent
Very friendly staff, well equipped SPA, the dinner menu is simply but superbly done. The breakfast is nice, I would suggest for the hotel to invest in one of those machines for the customer to get their own freshly served coffee/tea instead of waiting to be served. I would also suggest for the hotel to improve the billing to the room so that the customer can include a tip to be added to the bill.
I stayed at the Pillo Sat 29th December. We had a fab stay the room was so clean and fresh, the food was fantastic and the staff were so helpful. Looking forward to our next visit. Thankyou to Management & Staff on a very well run hotel. 5 Star all the way. Breda
Clean Nice food Pleasant staff Good value Good size room
Clean, comfortable, friendly staff, good food, enjoyable time with 2 young kids, wonderful play room for kids which was a great surprise! Would return.
Nice room good value break breakfast a bit chaotic not being replenished regular therefore long queues form whilst waiting for breakfast items. Pool very busy and floors by pool not mopped regularly making floor very slippery staff on reception very helpful
Good value for money Food was lovely Spacious room Hotel clean Staff very pleasant and helpful
Have being pillo plenty of times this by far are best stay Kids rooms major plus The hotel as a hole is quiet expensive but didn't bother us Food was very good Will go back
Really nice hotel, comfortable and clean, friendly staff - Only let down was the food - Not what i'd expect from a 4 star standard
Gorgeous hotel, lovely rooms, couldn't flaw a thing. Nice bar and breakfast and really friendly staff. Thoroughly enjoyed our stand, very good value for money and would highly recommend.
Went as a party of 19 (Adults, teens and children) and have to say it was a pleasant experience. New year check in and our needs were met. Great family friendly hotel. Excellent staff as well. Will go again.
One night dinner bed and breakfast was very good value .Good accomodation and friendly staff.Great food
Excellent dinner ,let down by poor gluten free breakfast.
Excellent stay in the Pillo Hotel!!! Great room, food and leisure facilities!!! Perfect location too, couldn't recommend it more!!!
Lovely hotel, air conditioning in rooms, fridge and a drinks machine at the end of corridor, only disadvantage no cash machine in hotel or cash back so couldn't use card for cash.
checkin quick and efficient parking secure -free lots on site room - good size -well finished-over hot at night -probably due to large glazed walls and solar gain dinner - food and service top class could not fault- well done to dining -kitchen staff breakfast- good standard pool- excellent we enjoyed using it if getting similar value will visit again
Excellent hotel and great value. Breakfast buffet very good. Room well decorated and clean. Staff very friendly and helpful. I will definitely stay here again.
Staff at the bar very nice, the bar food was amazing. Highly recommend the chicken wings (some of the nicest ever tested and Bruschetta was again amazing. Pool was really nice but would suggest the Hotel might sell a swimming hat for €1 rather than the € 2.50 they were looking for. The breakfast was absolutely beautiful could recommend it enough as they seem to cater for everyone's taste. If you like a full Irish you want be disappointed if you like cereal and fruit and croissants again you want be disappointed. Had Fillet steak in the Restaurant done to perfection. For a short break in a nice hotel definitely recommend.
Such a lovely hotel. The swimming pool was so nice. The room was a bit hot at night but I think every hotel is the same.Perfect for families and so close to everything.
We stayed two nights in this hotel. Reception staff was very friendly and helpful, room was fab, bed was very comfortable and pool facilities were good. Secure car parking in operation. Bar is okay. On the first night, I was given the wrong starters (soup), waiting staff offered a free desert. Breakfast was not the best Irish breakfast I've had. I would stay in this hotel again but would not dine in the restaurant or avail of the breakfast deal.
Lovely hotel, clean and comfortable. Good friendly efficient staff. Food good. Great "Buzz" about this hotel, plenty of young visitors who created a lovely atmosphere. The only negative was that our room looked out on the bin area at the rear of the hotel which did not lend to great viewing and we were awoke as expected with the noise early next morning. I did not ask for a change which may have been forth coming had I asked. Apart from this every thing was great and I will have no problem revisiting this hotel, but I will ask to get a more suitable room location.
Great hotel close to Tayto park
Comfortable large family room with a super large TV the kids loved... they will run a kids club if there are 5 or more kids around. Breakfast was good. Friendly helpful staff not in your face.
We has a very disappointing stay at the Pillo we weren't aware they were under refurbishment & the service was poor, the temporary bar and restaurant was unsatisfactory & it was very noisy with the work going on. I had stayed here before & thought it was really lovely but this time due to the refurbishment it was a disaster.
Lovely Hotel just back from a one night break over the midterm. Everything you could ask for. We stayed in Family room for four and it was very spacious, lovely comfortable beds slept like a log never heard a sound all night. They are currently refurbishing their bar/restaurant area so for that I left out a star but they did give me plenty of notice about this in advance of my stay. Breakfast was lovely, plenty of choice. Staff were very helpful and welcoming. Keep up the good work. Thank you. P.S Fabulous Pool/Steam Room (though Sauna wasn't very warm)
Hotel is lovely, room was spacious & bed very comfortable. Staff all friendly. Restaurant was disappointing. Service slow & both main courses were overcooked. Pool & changing facilities were spotless & lifeguard also on duty. Overall the break was good value for money but if going again I would leave out the meal & head into Ashbourne instead.
Rooms are lovely unfortunately our main course for dinner was not good. 3 of us ordered lamb but could not eat it as so tough.. sent it back and got 3 fresh ones but still the same.. lovely Manager organised a free drink which was nice. Ordered breakfast to room and had to pay the lad there and then which we found to be odd as usually pay on checkout.. had to pay upfront also on check-in which personally I have never had to do before so found all of this a bit odd. Breakfast was ok could have been hotter.. Our room mates next door went down for breakfast said it was not great either not hot enough. and housekeeping knocked on their door twice to see what time they were checking out at? So all in all this is the first bad lidl break food wise we have had.. I wouldnt be rushing back to the Pillo.
We had a lovely stay.room was comfortable and warm.beds were excellent.rooms were very clean.breakfast was lovely.2nd time staying there and will be back.plenty of parking space and enjoyed our meal in ashbourne with plenty of restaurants to choose from.would highly recommend to anyone for a night away.
Bedroom was lovely - spacious and tastefully decorated to 4* standard. However windows were screwed shut so room was airless and overheated. Reception very accommodating about our requirements but did not ask if we were happy with our stay when leaving. Restaurant was more 3*, like a canteen really. Both starters and main courses really good but dessert fell flat on its face. Breakfast was not 4* standard - too buffet style and plates were cold so food lost its heat quickly. Nothing much to do in the area as Ashbourne has little to offer.
Great value for money.Friendly staff.
Staff nice, location great, food was fabulous in the restaurant and breakfast served a good choice of all you can think of to eat. Only let down was getting a massage, its next to a gym where they constantly drop weights so its not that relaxing, i got a 20% discount but i would not recommend getting a message in this hotel, although no fault of the girl giving it.
WE stayed in your hotel on Friday night. The rooms were spotless and i could not fault the accommodation or the reception. However, you were let down by your food service. We had not reserved a table in the restaurant and therefore had to eat in the bar area. I understand the hotel was very busy on this evening and i am well aware that service can be slow under the circumstances. There seemed to be plenty of staff but there was no "service" as such. I stood at the bar to order a drink and my presence was not acknowledged by either of the bar staff or the manager. Never at any time did he say, someone will be with you shortly or even give me some eye contact to acknowledge that I was there. It took 15 minutes to order a drink. The staff passed in and out by us and did not clear our table for 25 minutes after we had finished. The kids got fed up waiting to order dessert. Overall the experience was good but some major training needs to be done with the dinner/bar service. Breakfast was perfect. Overall I would return but I just wanted to make you aware that there are areas which need improving.
Great hotel. great value for money. pleasant staff lovely food. Will stay there again
Great food, great entertainment.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the pillo...the room was clean and spacious with a nice view...staff were warm and friendly...especially the restaraunt manager and the food was excellent! We will definitely return!
Very nice hotel, modern and clean. easy to find. The only issue would be not much to walk to around the hotel. wasnt a problem for us.
Lovely hotel, great food and friendly staff. However the bedroom was not great - we were on the 5th floor and give a disabled bathroom so we had no bath. The room had a door to the next room through which we could hear the other occupants talking most of the night.
Comfortable modern hotel room - comfortable for a family of 2+2 Some minor maintenance issues in bathroom parking free on site breakfast quality and service - good standard bar food quality and service good standard leisure centre above average for similar hotels
Very nice hotel ,friendly staff , fabulous room and comfy bed!
Good experience checking in & out. Friendly, professional staff. Room was lovely (Family room on 4th floor). Took the kids swimming & couldn't fault the changing/pool area (towels are supplied). Ate in the bar that evening, food was good. Staff were a little slow in taking our order & we had to ask for our drinks order but once they took the order the food was quite fast to come out. No noise at night (it was a Friday night). The breakfast was fantastic .... couldn't ask for more. Have stayed before and would definitely stay again, great value.
Lovely big modern room and very clean. Food on the LIDL Breaks menu not the best though. Small helpings. My hake seemed to be reheated and was very small. Lamb main course also very small. Lovely friendly staff.
Decent hotel, I enjoyed my stay. Just little noisy for a light sleeper like me on front facade with traffic as busy road nearby, but I am sure its fine on other facades. They could do with planting a few leylandii near t road to kill passing cars/Trucks sound. For everything else nice hotel, although it needs a tiny bit of TLC for very small maintenance details. Its quite close to Taytopark. Literally less than 10 mins drive.
Had an overnight stay here after visiting Tayto Park. Very convenient to the park less than 10 mins drive. Lovely friendly welcome at reception. Beautiful spacious room. The Air-con didn't seem to be working so I rung reception who sent maintenance immediately, who agreed it wasn't working to full capacity, and arranged for our room to be changed straight away. No delays. Meal in the bar was very tasty, with great choice and very reasonable, as was our breakfast the next day. Upon arrival home, we realized we'd forgotten our toiletry bag, which contained lots of mine & my daughters makeup. Rung the hotel, who had kept it for us and agreed to post it out. I will definetly be returning to this hotel, and will be highly recommending it to my friends & family. Keep up the good work Pillo Hotel. x
Super Location..For Tayto Park Was pleasantly suprised to find that the Pillo Hotel was situated so close after our vist to Tayto Park..it's 5 mins max. drive and you cant miss it..located just of the motorway,The Hotel itself is large, modern with super friendly staff, The leisure centre looked great, just didnt have time to use it !...Highly recommended.
Fantastic hotel for a family break - we would even come here without the kids for a break away too as theres lots to do and some lovely restaurants in nearby Ashbourne. Highly recommend, we had a great time! :) Especially the pool - so fab!
Good. Modern. Clean. High standards. But very standard(ised). You could probably encounter a similar feel in many similar off-motorway hotels around the World...
Brilliant staff very friendly and helpful
I didn't stay in the hotel my daughter & children did said it was brilliant hotel great service and friendly staff couldn't ask for more . Plenty to entertain the children Family rooms spacious and air conditioning very pleased with it .
This used to be a Marriott hotel and since our last stay the decline has been noticeable. The rooms remain large and comfortable though the bed mattress was noticeablely coily. The room service food was delivered uncovered which made no sense. steak was cold and overcooked. The couches in the bar are very uncomfortable and need to be replaced. Breakfast was good and the staff are all very pleasant and professional. There's a lot to do around ashbourne, so the location is definitely worth a visit, but perhaps consider another hotel.
Went there last weekend for mothers day and i couldnt fault it .Rooms are spotless ,breakfast has everything you could want on offer .Swimming pool and spa available .Food in restaurant is to die for .Will definitely go back
The bed in the room was broken and the cooked breakfast was very disappointing. The only thing enjoyable about our stay was the swimming pool for the children.
Fantastic spotless clean comfy beds great shower brilliant swimming pool and food was excellent
Friendly staff, good pool and clean spacious rooms.
Lovely staff, very attentive and caring. Our meal was lovely, the room was clean, had a good layout and it was a good size. Good variety of food for breakfast also.
Enjoyed break but bit chaotic when we arrived on new years day - pool was really cold as they had problems with boiler but had improved by Sunday. Tv in bedroom was hard to get working and had to get help twice with same - had to look for extra pillows as well - food was nice in bar but very busy and I thought expensive for what we got - restaurant menu definitely offered better value - overall it's in a great location staff were very friendly and we would probably go back
Lovely hotel, very nice room and breakfast. Would recommend.
Water in the swimming pool showers were too hot otherwise we had a lovely stay
We had a nice stay, i thought the hotel was lovely, very clean and the room was very nice with all you need. However the menu in the restaurant was different and much more limiting than what was shown on the hotel's website. This was very disappointing, and misleading on the part of the hotel. They need to update their website to reflect what is being served in the restaurant, as people will only expect what is shown on their website, otherwise there is no point in having a sample menu.
Hotel was fine but not up to four star standard! Nice pool, average bedrooms, decent breakfast. Lady who checked us in was extremely rude as she had difficulty locating our booking and told us we should not have been allowed to book the hotel the day before staying as if it was our fault!
Lovely clean spacious rooms, entertainment in the bar on Saturday night was excellent. Food was ok, chicken wings were only barely warm and there was no lamb left. All staff very helpful. Showers in leisure centre were cold so went back to room
Paid in full on arrival, but we were not offered "room credit" which you have to have to order food/ drink & were refused service because I had left my purse in the room, or even have your breakfast brought to the room. We ordered breakfast to the room but had to pay €8 to the waiter at the door which we've normally paid anywhere else at checkout. Just thought it was very strange for a 4* hotel. Other than that a lovely place.
Beautiful hotel. We strayed on Friday night (6-11-15) and was disappointed to find there was no entertainment. We got a taxi into Ashbourne to The Ashbourne House Hotel which was a 5 min drive. There was fabulous entertainment there. Swimming pool / jacuzzi were great. Now the worst part: We decided to order breakfast in bed and payed the supplement of €8. The breakfast arrived bang on 10am as we ordered but was probably sitting on the tray since 8am. It was absolutely stone cold and like rubber. even the tea was cold..the chap that delivered it even had the cheek to tell me to watch it as it was very hot..This tainted what was an enjoyable night..
NICE AND CLEAN HOTEL , STAFF FRIENDLY . THE ONLY LET DOWN WAS THE FOOD VERY POOR ..
I was so impressed with this hotel. Our room was lovely and the breakfast was delicious. Would definitely book again
For lunch Ordered two toasted sandwiches had to send back as they were not toasted. Chips were cold and had to send them back. Sauna was out of order in leisure centre. Confusion at breakfast as to whether we were on b&b rate or not, they were going to charge €20 to the bill for breakfast until I pointed out was on b&b rate.
Excellent value, and excellent hotel. Thoroughly enjoyed and most definitely will be back. Breakfast was lovely and pool area is very well kept and attended. Overall great experience. x
Lovely hotel to stay in staff very friendly and attentive, rooms were a good size, nice pool area, food was decent only thing was there were a lot of kids running around but it is marketed as a child friendly hotel. Other than that all good would stay again.
Super stay at Pillo Ashbourne perfect location for Tayto Park, comfortable rooms, friendly staff, nice breakfast and good value bar menu... no complaints.
Really thought this hotel was lovely, had a great night staff very helpful and friendly. Evening meal was delicious and a good choice of dishes. We were pleased with our visit and would go again.
Very nice hotel and in good location. Only small issue was with bathroom, tiles a bit grubby. Other than that the rest of the hotel was very good.
staff very friendly and helpful, rooms clean and bed very comfortable. pool and spa also very good
Great location to visit Tayto Park and Funtasia Waterpark. Family room was clean and spacious. Would definitely recommend and we'll be staying here again.
We had a great weekend at the Pillo hotel. Everything was first class and we had a really enjoyable time, we will be back there soon again I hope.
Food was very ordinary, the staff were freindly but seemed to lack leadership. Long waiting times fo breakfast - totaly disorganised. no wifi in the room I do not think I would stay again.
lovely hotel.. lovely pool...great deal and very very helpful staff
We were a group of 11 in total and stayed 2 nights, overall our experience of this hotel was good. The rooms are large and have most things you need, although our room did not get refreshed and when this was mentioned at reception we just got a shrug and ok I'll check that - no apology... We had dinner included in our package and a few of us ordered the steak with is €6 extra, the steak itself was tough and all we got with it was skinny chips (like you would get in McDonalds), no vegetables or mushrooms/onions etc. We mentioned this to the waiter and we saw him say it to the manager, but nothing was done about it, nor did the manager come over to us to discuss same. We then mentioned this at reception where the on duty manager offered us a voucher for the hotel for the total cost of €24 to be used at another time - I think a more flexible approach should have been applied, i.e. send over a bottle of wine to our table or offer a round of drinks, very simple solution, but this was not offered - a pity as this is why the review is not marked down for this hotel. I have to mention we have stayed here before and had a great time, so hopefully comments will be taken on board to improve customer satisfaction.
the positives were the room was comfy the shower was gorgeous. The pool was nice but full of kids whcih cant be helped and the changing rooms could have been cleaner. The bar food was lovely but the service was dreadful my husband had to ask three times for menus and when we eventually got our food the lady who appeared to be in charge told us sorry its late but it was so busy in a tone that implied we were just causing trouble to her!!!! The restaurant was lovely and staff were lovely. The spa I would not recommend at all overpriced for really poor facilities. The relaxation room was so poor cheap fittings, cold, with luke ward tap water to drink,. I had a luxury???? pedicure 70 euro which I was really looking foward to. water for foot soak was cold. their was a fitness class going on next door so all you could hear was shouting and loud music. the girl that did the treatment was nice but looked exhausted which made me feel guilty. When I was left to relax??? 2 girls came barging in twice without aknowleding my existance sloshed water into a basin and an bubble bath??? not the relaxing oils promised and dragged it off to some other unfortunate.
an excellent hotel with friendly staff. great food and good facilities.
I was very impressed with the Pillo Hotel in Ashbourne and thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the facilities were great and the weekend was very reasonably priced also.We will be heading back to the Pillo Hotel for a weekend break in the near future and we highly recommend the Lidl weekend breaks to those who are thinking of having one. Regards Francis Hegarty.
Very spacious clean rooms. Really nice leisure and gym. Very friendly helpful staff.
Extremely friendly helpful staff. Really nice gym and leisure centre, very spacious clean rooms and really enjoyed the food too. Had great fun in the karaoke room too. Will definitely go back again.
Absolutely shall be staying again!!! I booked three rooms on Friday 22nd of November for a group of us. All of the rooms were presented impeccably and to a high standard. One of the rooms required two travel cots and having rang to request this, they were set-up upon arrival. The staff in the hotel were very courteous and welcoming. We all dined in the restaurant, which was equally impeccable with a delicious menu. Breakfast was also very enjoyable and we all were very happy with the choice of food on offer. I personally can not wait to stay here again.
Lovely clean hotel, food top class. staff very friendly and helpful. My only disappointment the size of the towels for having a shower or bath, they are only the size of hand towels.
Great hotel with fab food ,hotel room and leisure facilities were great
Really nice hotel. Rooms lovely and lovely swimming pool. really enjoyed our stay there and would definitely go back.
The Pillo was just fab from checking in to our family room which was spotless we had a lovely visit to the pool followed by Dinner which can be ordered from the menu or as a buffet the food was first class the kids then went to see a movie in the Ballroom A good night sleep by all lovely warm room Breakfast was a buffet style with loads of food again first class very nice staff
Stayed for 2 nights B&B plus evening meal, 2 course evening meal was voucher worth €14 if eating in bar and was not impressed with this as main course was €13.50 for fish & chips so really only one course. Rooms are excellent as usual and very comfortable used pool very clean. Will always stay here as i love the hotel rooms
Stayed for 1 night used pool and rooms very comfy
Great weekend lovely staff and rooms very high standard, will stay again
Had a great night lovely hotel spacious room and bed. Had dinner in the red grill I think it was cold was lovely and fast.
Would recommend this Hotel for anyone staying with a family or looking for a nice cosy night away with your parnter. The hotel staff are very friendly and warm . The hygenie is excellent . The rooms are very spacious and bright. The pool area is great great for both adults and kids and the bar has a nice atmosphere . Will be returning to this hotel in the near future.
Just back from a lovely weekend at Pillo hotel. The staff, food, leisure complex and accommodation was fantastic. we are hoping to return next april for another brilliant weekend just chilling out! we cant praise this hotel enough.
Hotel lovely bedroom fab but safe in room not working. When we advised reception they sent up 2 girls from housekeeping who had no idea what the problem was. We got room service but food barely warm when it arrived. Breakfast was not what I expected from a 4 star hotel. Could give more variety and more breads eg rolls homemade brown bread & scones.
Be wary of carpark, I never saw anywhere with the amount of signs warning about not leaving your valuables in the car. Otherwise I can't fault the place.
Excellent hotel. Very family friendly. Will definitely return
Great, family friendly hotel, very short driving distance from Tayto park, would definitely stay again.
Excellent 5 stars!!!
We were delighted with our stay at the Pillo hotel acessed right off the roundabout great parking facilities right beside the enterence Room were large and very well set out great of kids with swimming pool, music each nite very closes to Tayto Park which is a full day out Yes I would stay there again
Unfortunately, my husband and I did not have a good experience at the Pillo Hotel. Staff called to clean our room at 9.30 a.m., before we had been given our breakfast which we had ordered through room service. As we didn't allow our room to be cleaned at that time, the room was not serviced at all that day. The following day, our breakfast, again ordered through room service, was not delivered to our room. We rang reception and they told us to come to the dining room for our breakfast. When we arrived at the dining room, there was no available tables and a large queue waiting for tables for breakfast. On complaining to staff, they were totally uninterested in what we had to say.
The hotel was fab, food was fantastic, staff were wonderful. But we were totally let down by our room. Room 208 the toilet constantly had water flowing from it, it sounded like a waterfall in our room we couldnt move rooms as we were attending a wedding in the hotel and it was fully booked. It was such a pity as everything else about this hotel is fabulous. We have emailed the Hotel Manager to complain and nearly 2 weeks later he still hasnt replied. So not great customer service. If you dont mind the noise of water running all night in your bathroom, book it.
great hotel for family breaks, with young children. Tayto park just down the road. Blanchardstown shopping centre 15 mins away. best deal to be found. All meals were good. Pool great. Friendly staff. Would definately recommend!
Great hotel. Friendly staff. Fabulous room very spacious even had its own iron and ironing board which is not usually the case. Great location. Highly recommen.
Just home from a 1 night stay at the Pillo Hotel, it was lovely, very family friendly. Hotel very modern & clean, dinner & breakfast was great. Rooms very spacious. We were really impressed with leisure facilities - will definately return.
Staff were lovely at reception. The restaurant had a load of staff and were very attentive. The food at both dinner and breakfast was lovely
Stayed 2 nights with our two children aged 3&5, we had a great time. The hotel is ideal for families and the staff are really friendly and happy to help and provide information too. The family room is perfect and well kitted out. With bargainbreaks the value for money was exceptional.
Very nice hotel and leisure centre. We stayed 2 nights with 2 young children. Staff were very nice, rooms were spacious and comfortable. Will definitely be back. Thanks.
Great 4 star hotel. Restaurant food was beautiful, rooms very spacious and beds extremely comfortable. Would definitely stay here again. Great location to base yourself if doing excursions/trips to surrounding counties
Lovely night away with the girls. Hotel is stylish. Food was really delicious . Staff were friendly. Bed was super comfortable!
Room was spotless, staff friendly, exactly the type of stuff you'd expect.
A gorgeous hotel. Lovely pool and jacuzzi. Very clean. Meal was fabulous. But breakfast was better. The nicest breakfast ive ever had at a hotel. Staff were brilliant. Would definitely stay again.
Lovely hotel, modern, clean, lovely food, friendly staff, easy to find. I can't think of anything negative.
The hotel was clean and staff friendly, however we spent a terrible night as the room was extremely hot and the air con did not work neither of my children slept. We would not return to this hotel. Also the breakfast was cold.
Excellent Hotel.Friendly staff .Large comfortable room . Lovely meal. We'll be back !!!!
Really fine hotel, smashing pool and gym, lovely dinner and breakfast. Only little crib was the room I was given had a party door, which I specifically requested on booking not to have, and I was told It was not possible to get a different room. Fortunately, the occupants of the other room were family, just as well, as the party door was a good half inch too small for the frame, the lock on one door didn't even reach the receiver, and you could clearly gape through the door gap into the other room when one door was opened. It probably breached fire regs, as the seal didn't come close to the door frame. My tip is always to carry a roll of PVC tape with you if you're given a room with a loose party door. I've endured fag smoke (even in non smoking floors) and other 'sound effects' too often in the past. Pillo, get a carpenter in.
Great for families. Rooms very good. Bar and Restaurant poor ( Ambience, Service and Layout). Leisure Centre excellent. Maintenance lacking. Reception staff excellent. Bar staff and restaurant staff awful. Lacks mature leadership and trained staff. Too many young untrained staff who either dont care nor are unsure of what they are doing. Parking very good and excellent location. Ideal base for visit to Tayto Park.

Lovely Hotel friendly staff, excellent food, rooms were lovely and clean...........would def go back again
Just returned from two night b&B and meal. lovely hotel staff good but not enough of them. rooms are amazing very spacious but food was just ok. No real organisation in the hotel for breakfast or dinner. (could do with a good manager) ). Pool area is lovely, bar lovely, staff lovely. I would return but not for the service in the restaurants :(
just back from a 1 night stay in the pillo hotel ashbourne lovely hotel fab pool great staff only 1 major complaint was at breakfast when a family of 2 adults and 3 children aged between 7 -14 all arrived for breakfast in pyjamas complete with slippers which i found very off putting and very unhygienic , i do not understand how a 4 star hotel can justify this behaveour please management stop this horrible sight as it just makes the hotel like a camp site, this ruined what was a lovely experence at the pillo hotel. 3 star would have been 4 sorry
hotel lovely, food delicious and staff were very friendly. would visit the hotel again, enjoyed it greatly
lovely hotel.....couldnt have asked for better....great value.....family friendly! will visit again
Really enjoyed our stay. Great value for money and ideal for families.
Hotel was lovely. Very clean and plenty of friendly staff. Pool was lovely (could do with a few more lights though!) Great choice for breakfast, dinner was lovely. Bar wasn't the nicest bar in the world as quite cafe like but did the trick! Bedroom was very nice, big and bright and comfortable and plenty of TV channels.
WE WENT TO THE PILLO HOTEL IN ASHBOURNE FOR A FAMILY CELEBRATION AND COULD ONLY SING THE PRAISES OF THE STAFF, SERVICE AND COMFORT IN THIS HOTEL. GREAT FOOD, LOVELY ACCOMODATION AND SO CONVENIENT TO THE M50. WILL USE AGAIN.
hi myself and my husband have stayed in this hotel alot and would highly recommend it, the only problem is the seating in the red bar as its looks comfy but isn,t, also they should consider live entertainment on the weekends, none of what ive just mention would deter me from booking as ive already looking forward to my next stay, the rooms are huge spacious modern and spotless, service second to none, leisure centre is brill, and the food is amazing anyone staying here will not be sorry that they have highly highly recommend it! 5 star rating
Lovely hotel and staff. Enjoyed the stay as it was a good meeting point for my friend and I. We did not like the Red Bar, it does not lend itself to a relaxing environment. The food was good but not outstanding. Lots of children around and some parties going on but our room was quiet and we did not hear any disturbance.
We had a lovely stay at the Pillo Hotel in Ashbourne, Co Meath. I cannot fault the hotel. The hotel itself was spotless and the staff were friendly and so efficient. We were delighted with the Lidl break deal that we booked our one night stay through. We booked 1 night B&B with voucher for dinner. We had a 2 course dinner in the hotel restaurant. The food was gorgeous. The only thing I found that let the hotel down slightly was the fact that there is no entertainment (music) in the bar at the weekend, but other than that we would definitely stay again and we will definitley book a Lidl break again they are such good value for money.
Lovely hotel, the staff were very helpful and friendly, would highly recommend this hotel , it have great facilities and da rooms are spacious and very clean
I thoroughly enjoyed my one night stay in the Pillo hotel Ashbourne. we have stayed here on numerous occasions. the rooms are very spacious, clean and modern. check in was quick and the staff were very polite. we will be returning for another stay soon.
Stayed for one night recently rooms very comfortable, resturant excellent for dinner and breakfast, staff extremly helpfull and cost of stay great value there was a wedding in the hotel but the hotel still catered for everyone else, the only small comment is that the atmosphere in the bar is a little sterile and the presentation of the cocktails was poor. Would have no hesitation staying again.
we stayed one night in the pillow hotel ashbourne.this is a beautiful ,well run hotel.the food was fantastic.the hotel has everything -pool , gym and walks into ashbourne town.one night wasnt long enough but we wil be back soon.
We enjoyed a great one nite stay in the pilo hotel.Got up graded to a suite because they had no famly rooms,it was lovely and spacious.
Nice hotel, rooms clean. Bar food is nice, but Restaurant 21 would not be for us. The acoustics in this restaurant are terrible and with the kitchen in the same room its was just loud and we could hear all conversations from the tables. We didn't stick around to eat here so went off down the town for dinner. Breakfast was nice. Staff could do with some cheering up and could crack a smile every now and again. Catriona
Great value and very convenient for Tayto Park. Nice rooms, good breakfast included and the kids club was a bonus too. Also got to have a swim in the health club the following morning. Definitely recommended for a family getaway.
My friend and I really enjoyed our stay there. The room was really nice and very spacious. The staff were very friendly. However there is one major criticism I had;noisy children running around the bar at 11 at night and nothing was done about it.The breakfast was good except for the scrambled eggs. The hotel needs to review its policy on kids in the bar as this will affect business for them
the hotel was just splendid food, rooms, leisure centre, and wonderful staff. there was nothing that could be improved upon as everything was just perfect. we really enjoyed our stay and will be back.
Staff were very welcoming when we arrived, the room was lovely and clean but extremely warm had air conditioning on but didnt seem to be effective at all.The children throughly enjoying the swimming pool.Dinner was lovely except for dessert selection if you didnt like nuts like me you had very little to choose from and the scrambled eggs at breakfast had an awful taste but these overall were very small complaints.Thank you for the stay
