Just had a lovely 2 day break here & from start to finish we could not fault it, from promt friendly check in to checking out all staff were brilliant & friendly. We had dinner from the bar menu & great choice of food and lovely meal. Room grand & big with good size bathroom. swimming pool was good but bit disappointing there was not a kids pool as we had a 2 year old with us but she loved the " big persons " pool. will definitely make a return visit here.

I was pleasantly surprised by the Hotel. It was exceptional value for money. Both my wife and I stayed in this hotel. The staff could not have been more helpful. They are a great credit to the organisation. Other hotels could learn the value of having good staff. The hotel itself and facilities were excellent. We sought directions and the girl at reception drew a map and explained the directions to minute detail. The breakfast was also wonderful. The staff food and plates which were hot was excellent. I would strongly recommend this hotel to my family and friends and I will certainly return again. I could not find any fault. I would rank it 5 star. Well done. Michael A. McGarry

Lovely hotel and the staff are great. Requested connecting rooms and got wonderful family rooms on the third floor. The food is great in the bar and the breakfast was perfect. Will definitely be back.

lovely hotel although the service is terrible. Waited 40 minutes in restaurant for someone to take our order after having to ask 4 times and having to go and get the menus ourselves from the bar area. We were travelling with a 9 month old baby and we asked for one slice of toast for him which took 30 minutes to come out to us again after asking several times. No one seemed to know what they were doing. We spoke to reception who said they would get the manager to come and speak to us which did not happen either. They are very understaffed and just don't seem to care about the guests.

Just back from 2 night stay at Cavan Crystal, and what a hotel!! From the moment you walk in you are treated like royality. The hotel , food, staff and leisure complex are out on their own. It was like being in a 5star hotel. The breakfast and bar food were like something we have never had and will be returning again as soon as we can. Thanks Cavan Crystal for a brilliant break.

Stayed for one night only in the Cavan Crystal. The hotel itself is beautiful, as was our bedroom. The staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurant was closed on the night we stayed which was not a problem as we could eat in the bar. However the food was below average apart from the desert and the bar lacked atmosphere with scattered tables on an open floor area.

Stayed for one night on Sunday 17th August on b&b plus dinner package. The room we had was lovely and staff were very friendly. Only negative was that I wasn't aware the Opus Restaurant does not open on Sunday night until I had booked and you have to eat dinner in the bar. There did not seem to be enough staff on duty in the bar to cope with the amount of people ordering food. We had to ask at the bar for a menu and then waited another 20 minutes to get the attention of a waiter to take our order. We also had to ask for cutlery after each course was brought out. Please Cavan Crystal employ more waiters to serve food or open the restaurant on Sunday!!!

My husband and I stayed here for one night on Sunday last. We started off badly had to move rooms. First had bad smell the minute you opened the door. The second smelled of stale tobacco as if someone had been smoking in the room even though it was an non smoking room. The third was fine if a little small. We ate dinner in the restaurant the food was good could have done with a bit more vegetables and we felt as if we were being pushed through too quickly. There was music in the bar which was very good. We arrived for breakfast at 9.30.am, my husband was on a stick but we were seated at a table furthest from the food. It is very difficult to carry things and use your stick at the same time. There was a table free for four and I felt under the circumstances we could have been given it. The cooked breakfast was supposed to be cooked fresh but the bacon looked as if it had been kept warm for some time. . Even though breakfast was served until 10.30 am. there were no pastries at all from 9.45am and plenty more people came down after us. It was not all bad so We will try this hotel again as everyone can have an off day and hope it will be better next time.

Stayed in The Cavan Crystal Hotel on a Sunday night of a Bank Holiday. The Hotel is gorgeous, rooms are very big and luxurious. The Reception area is bright, big and airy and very calming and comfortable. The bar was fine and there was a large choice for Breakfast. All in all I would recommend this hotel. It was about a 20 min walk into the town but it was raining so we got a cab which cost €6.00. I would give it a 4 star for rating.

Stayed here for 2 nights. Beautiful hotel and Spotless clean. The staff were very friendly. We ate from the bar menu rather than the restaurant as it suited us better. Overall very enjoyable.

I visited this hotel on 31st December for a two night break. I booked this a good while ago as I saw it and it was not too far from Dublin. Initially we booked in and the receptionist was very business like and asked if we wanted to settle bill as it would probably go through with the debit card. We agreed to this but personally I always like to pay when leaving as if there is any issues it is better to pay when you have experienced how god or bad it is. I understand now that this hotel is in receivership as are most hotels in Ireland now. The room was fine and and had the usual tea making facilities and toiletries. Breakfast was fine too but it was quite busy and a lot of the items in the buffet were gone and not replaced like pastries etc. The staff are not over friendly. The big big disapointment was that I received a e mail o 23rd December stating that was I aware that they would not be doing the normal dinner on 31st of January they meant 31st December. It was 60 euros extra and they stated it was a gala dinner which was six courses. There was supposed to be mulled wine on arrival abd coffee or tea with petit fours after. It sounded o.k. although most people we know though it was excessive. We though it would be a band and there would be dancing but no only a one man guy in the bar with a glass of bubbly at 12.00p.m. Any way there was a 5 euros supplement on a 60 euros menu for steak but my husband said was scandalous. It was only really a four course meal not one bit fancy. It was 40 euros supplement with LIDL break. I would advise anyone booking this type of New Year deal to check it out carefully with hotel before booking as it does not mention anything on LIDL site and they took our booking. What a ripoff. I would warn others not to get ripped off by this type of thing. An excellent early bird in Dublin i a top class restaurant costs about 20 for at least two courses. I will not be returning there again. The drinks in the bar were very expensive also. I heard a man returning a pint of beer saying that there was lipstick on side of glass. Myra Moran, Dublin.

Great hotel. It might not be in the best location but the hotel itself is first class. Staff are really friendly. Rooms extremely comfortable. Had a few drinks and some food in the bar which was excellent. Nice size pool. No negatives at all. We were there for Easter weekend so there were lots of children around but that was not an isue as there is lots of space for all.

really enjoyed our stay here, very comfortable room, lobby etc, bar could do with freshen up. didnt get a chance to try the food as restaurant was fully booked. 2 little hang ups about our stay : was looking forward to fluffy bathrobes but alas they were coarse and also on checkout the girl behind desk made sarcastic comment on our "deal" but thank you lidl breaks for the fab offer!

Nice "3" star hotel.Staff are very friendly and very very helpful.Just some helpful hinters to improve things at the Cavan Crystal. Rooms are average but have everything one might need. The bar is very quiet and very little seating , therefore little atmosphere. The non-existance of a bar-food menu on Fridays and Saturdays is an issue for those looking for a tasty snack mid or late afternoon if you fancy taking it easy. Almost ten couples arrived in the bar requesting a bar-food menu within an hour and subsequently immediately turned around and left. A serious repeated oversight for potential "cash" customers in a recession ,superb location to attract passing prospective customers. There was no towels in the room on arrival , lifts were very fast , hotel is very clean . Sofa in Foyer could also do with a "face-lift".But overall a very enjoyable stay and would return again. Had a great time , thank you kindly.

We stayed in the Cavan Crystal for 2 nights and really enjoyed out stay. The staff are really friendly and helpful and the Restaurant is beautiful. The food was outstanding. Compliments to the Chef! There was only one downside and that was the hotel bar. It is very badly laid out and in need of new furniture. There is not really an atmosphere in the bar as it is really like sitting in someones sitting room on really old grubby chairs! But overall it was a great weekend and the staff couldnt do enough for you.
