Nice clean room and we observe that the standard of breakfast has improved. Front of house were very efficient and welcoming
Lovely clean hotel would stay there again
I arrived the day before check in with a cake as it was my dad's birthday.. I informed the staff that the lady who had baked the cake told me that it should not be refrigerated as the icing would go soggy and wet and the cake would be practically ruined.. staff said that was fine.. we arrived the next day with my dad and I must say the girl that greeted us wasn't in the greatest of humour and we found her to be quite rude throughout the entire 2 days we stayed.. Saiorse on reception was amazing with her customer service skills and she is a real asset to the team.. we were checked in before 3pm which was great because we had gotten in early.. we brought my dad to his room on this second floor which was a lovely room and quite a nice view. We then proceeded to our own room which was to be on the same floor.. we used our keys and got in to find other people's luggage and clothing all over the place.. I only imagine what could have been going on in the room had we walked in at the wrong time.. we went down to reception and explained this to the girl who just sort of stared at us.. there was another lady.. maybe a manager with blonde hair who thoroughly apologised and said that she would upgrade our room but it would be on the 4th floor.. lovely lady I wish I had caught her name.. anyway we made our way up to the 4th floor by elevator.. the elevator situation needs to be sorted.. there is only 1 elevator in service between the whole hotel.. on some occasions we were waiting up to 20 min/ half an hour for a lift to come up or an empty lift that we could get in To.. we would use the stairs but my father is disabled and cannot manage the stairs. Once we got up to our room on the 4th floor the ky wouldn't work so we had to go all the way back down to get the to fix it.. the room was not an upgrade at all.. it was the smallest hotel room I've ever stayed in.. I'm really short and couldn't even see out the window. It was nothing short of a box room.. there was a side window that I could see out of but it just faced the other side of the hotel.. the bath and shower was nice and warm.. we went for dinner that night and the staff were to bring a cake out for my dad which they did and they did an absolutely tremendous job of making us feel welcome and my dad feel special.. every single one of the staff that helped out with that should be applauded! However.. as mentioned the cake was not to be refrigerated and once I looked at the cake I could not believe it.. the icing was soaking and the rice paper transfer that was on it was all bubbly.. someone had even knocked a few of the letters off and put them back spelling it wrong.. it went in saying 60th and came back out saying 60ht.. I paid 200 euro for this cake and I'm my eyes it was ruined.. luckily it never ruined my fathers birthday mood and he was happy.. the pool sauna steam room and jacuzzi were lovely.. the jacuzzi does appear to be falling apart but I really enjoyed my time in there.. we weren't aware we would have to wear swim hats in the pool and had to pay 3 euro each for a hat which is no big deal it just would have been better to have known. When we dined down stairs Alex and Jordan were really stand out amazing.. there was a guy with a pony tail who was really rude and when asked for a drink he seemed annoyed when you asked him.. the parking is great and the breakfast outstanding one of the best spreads I've seen.. I rang down on my last night for towels and some toilet roll and it took about an hour to get these things and even when I rang reception I was passed to someone else to deal with me as the receptionist did not understand me which didn't surprise me as she had been quite rude to us the whole time anyway.. another member of staff who was amazing with us was Dean.. he went above and beyond to make sure we were looked after! There's so many improvements that could be made but overall the stay was okay.. I dont think I'd stay in the hotel again but I'd certainly come back to the grain and grill for drinks and food! P.s let that girl in the bar make her raspberry martinis all the time! She is an amazing bar tender and with 6 years of bar managing experience that is one of the best cocktails I've ever tasted! Give her a raise!
Very goid
Was on the 3rd floor was a group of boys paying football in the hall. Very noisy hotel a lot of noise during the night banging doors and screaming and fighting. Not much to do in the area . Hotel looked very bland. Swimming pool closed at 6.30 at weekends we only arrived at 5 was expecting it to be closed at at least 8. The only good thing I'll say was there was a girl called naimh behind the bar who made me fresh coffee in the morning and was very nice while another girl told me to use a machine.
Having stayed previously we booked Maldron Hotel Tallaght as an overnight stay when attending a Concert in Dublin. When checking into our room our first impression of the corridor our room was on wasn't great. There were bags of laundry left outside rooms these were joined later by dirty plates and bags of rubbish. Not sure if these were to be collected by hotel staff as still there the following day when we checked out. The room we stayed in was in need of a freshen up, paint on wall marked, stains on carpet. General lack of care taken in appearance of hotel. The panel on the lift that indicated the floor numbers had been inserted incorrectly so floor numbers sideways. We did sleep well and there was a good choice at breakfast.
Found the hotel to be clean, although there was an event going on the same night which had a rough crowd. But this is out of scope for this review. I would recommend.
Was a lovely hotel food was amazing and was very easy to find. Beds are very comfortable also. Staff wore very helpful and friendly
Hotel staff were excellent. Slight issue with the booking via bargain breaks Web site which was handled with courtesy. Great gym. Thanks
Very Friendly staff, and great location, easy access to public transport, 40mins to city centre. Great breakfast.
"Hot" breakfast not very hot each morning . Bathroom door not closing or locking properly .( room 410 ).
Hotel clean .staff friendly .waiting time for evening meal in Bar and Grill too long . No access to the pool .as full of children having swimming lessons .and changing rooms full of waiting parents .
Staff were so friendly and helpful. Bed was so comfy and room was clean. Would definitely stay here again.
enjoyable stay, nice hotel, nice rooms
Hotel very disorganized. Waited an hour for dinner after ordering and that was before the match crowd arrived. The same issues at breakfast and no residents bar after 12.30.
Excellent service at check in , rooms spotless and comfortable, bar clean and staff very attentive and happy to attend to guests . I’ve stayed twice lately and will continue to return . Price excellent too
I am staying in this hotel once/twice a month. Lovely service, nice rooms, good food.
I go there regularly to relax and sometimes work. I find the staff so well trained, they are always genuinely happy, very helpful and always accommodating to every request. The hotel is in a perfect location and has easy access to shopping the luas etc.
We had a lovely stay. The food was beautiful. My son loved the chicken wings and I loved the sweet potato fries for dinner. The breakfast was great. The staff couldn't do more to help with any queries we had and were very friendly. The bedroom was wonderful and so clean. We really enjoyed our stay and plan to return.
My bedroom was good but my family had trouble with Check in . We had booked a table for my grandson holiday communion nothing was prepared. We were 3/4 drinks behind that we waited ages on . The manager gave us the drinks we only then paid for one round to make amends with the order from the bar my son Inlaw didn’t get his main cause. So yes a few things went wrong it’s definitely a place I would not recommend to any of my friends sadly to say so .
My wife and I have stayed here many times over the years. We have always found the hotel good value for money, good food, and service. The location suits us as we can avoid the city traffic and have access to the city centre with the convenience of the Luas service. Special mention of Sandra, the lady in charge of the restaurant, for breakfast. She is excellent!
Family friendly hotel, very convenient to the square shopping Center across the street and the red Luas stop just 2 minutes walk. Kids loved pool, if you forget swim hats these can be bought at reception for €3 or goggles €10. Breakfast was delicious. Recommend fish n chips on restaurant dinner menu and 3 course voucher meal can be purchased at reception for €21 bargain! Enjoy
Very friendly staff. Delicious food in restaurant. The leisure centre is a bonus. Excellent value for money.
This is my second stay in last few weeks. Great value for money on Lidl breaks. Pleasant staff. Clean rooms. Great transport links with Luas nearby. Good breakfast. Will stay again.
I booked 3 individual rooms plus one more for my brother for that night the 9th. The hotel rooms were very nice and comfortable and quiet. The hotel staff were very helpful and pleasant. We had a meal booked that night for 11 people. Everyone enjoyed their meal. Really very good. Not very keen on the live music and thought it was too loud. The only downside was the lift operation and it stopping on different floors and we kept meeting the same people on different floors so the also had the same problem. Thanks Mary
Room was absolutely spotless! Staff were very nice on arrival and leaving. No complaints whatsoever. Definitely recommend
Amazing staff great location rooms great cant faukt it and will return
great staff, delicious food in the grill restaurant, enjoyable entertainment, extremely comfy bed and powerful shower. Standard Room had all facilities needed and the showergel and hand soap were of good quality. Close to shops, park, arena. Defo recommend. Grace, Arklow
Not great, sandwich in bar horrendous, felt sorry for the young girl bringing it as obviously very little training. Furniture in room scratched and dirty and smell of smoke, asked for a quiet room, only to be across from and next to a party... Breakfast was good though..... Not one to leave bad reviews, and book if you don't want sleep
Staff were so friendly, 10 out of 10...food was very average
My wife and I had stayed here many times pre-pandemic but this was our first visit since then. The standard of compliance to Covet safety standards and keeping everybody safe was excellent, in every facet of our stay. The service in the restaurant at breakfast was as well organized as I have ever experience. The restaurant manager was particularly efficient, and she has a great personality.
Friendly and helpful staff, excellent food, enjoyable stay, only issue was pool usage, we had booked but there were lessons going on and we couldn’t enjoy a swim,
After some issues with food. The hotel manager Linda, far exceeded our expectations in dealing with the trivial matters.
Staff very nice but the service was poor due not enough of them. Pool open but no showers. Room was not cleaned on the second day of our stay even though I had requested it. The best I could get was fresh towels delivered to the room. Breakfast was cold on the first morning.
Fabulous hotel and staff are very welcoming.
Lovely hotel, we’ve stayed there a few times now, the front of house staff are so efficient, friendly and welcoming, some bubbling with enthusiasm In fact which raises the atmosphere even further. The staff went out of their way to accommodate our two particular requests too showing how the general staff are more than capable. Lovely breakfasts, Hake dinner was lovely, although my partner didn’t overly enjoy her particular Korma dish which was overly laden with courgette, perhaps slightly larger portions too, but otherwise prices excellent. During Covid times an electric fan was welcome in room as balcony is off limits and locked, we did struggle a little with the night heat due to the unprecedented heatwave but we were very well accommodated. The swimming pool lovely, hotel and rooms so clean, the Covid system feels efficient and safe, everything from breakfast to pool use must be pre booked and there is an online portal to aid with this, so all in all very happy and will be back.
Had a lovely stay in the Maldron hotel Tallaght. The staff were lovely especially the women who served us for dinner. We didn’t enjoy breakfast. Although there was a wide variety of breakfast the quality and presentation of the food was not great.
Very friendly staff.
Beautiful hotel - food fantastic and great choices - all staff that we met were friendly, helpful and courteous - fantastic price - only complaint was the heat in the bedroom and corridor - it was so overwhelming even with the fan on but again we were there during the heatwave with 27/29 degrees celsius.
Very friendly staff, very good breakfast and good selection of food There was plenty of choice for the three course evening meal and it was very tasty
Hotel was spotless. Staff, especially those on reception were brilliant. Nothing was too much trouble. Stephen, in the bar was lovely & friendly. Room was lovely, just pity balcony was closed. Swimming pool was ok,alot of unruly teenagers. Jacuzzi was emptied of water, which was disappointing as we stayed in hotel week before, in D.15, and their pool amenities were up & running. Pool/jacuzzi was the reason I booked as I need them for medical reasons. Overall it was a nice hotel
Very friendly staff. Delicious food. The swim is a welcome bonus.
Great hotel and service, food wasn’t great at all
Staff very nice very attentive hard working and food in restaurant and service top class. Also breakfast perfect and coffee lovely.Rooms spotlessly clean has everything we needed can't fault it anyway it's 5 star experience
Clean, comfortable beds and friendly staff.
very enjoyable stay
Very difficult to find car parking, no signs on the roads outside the hotel to point you in the right direction for the hotel parking so ended up driving around a few times. Bedroom itself felt like it was in a dungeon, dark, depressing and felt unsafe as a lone female with a child on a ground level. I found a pair of men's socks on the floor behind a chair from the previous occupant and the toilet bowl was not clean. I should have returned to the front desk to change the room so that was my own fault but we were anxious to get to the pool and make use of what was left of the day as a check in time of 3.00pm is quite late. The pool could do with a good clean as visible dirt all around the tiles in the pool and steam room was out of order. All the staff we encountered were friendly, attentive and efficient. Food was good and plentiful. I would stay again in a different room.
* Arrived at 1.10 pm and were info that as there was no room available, our booking could not be accepted until later. * Returned at 8.00 pm and were allocated room no 116 which we discovered was a noisy room as there was a 40th Birthday party taking place on the floor below. When booking with Lidl we sought a quiet room. Informed there was no other room available. * Informed music would continue until 12.30 am. Sleep was impossible until music ceased. *Breakfast was disorganized - no staff at servery counter. * Following complaints to management, we were offered a room upgrade when next we stay at the Tallagh Maldron.
I went to reception and receptionist said I owed more that what was agreed under 3 plus breaks.I had to produce documentation. She had to go to reservations to resolve this.I stayed in a room on the 4th floor.Traffic noise was unbearable on the first night,Didn't get any sleep.I requested a move on the second night. This room was perfect. Food in restaurant was excellent.Breakfast was excellent. Staff were friendly and polite.Swimming pool and Gym were adequate and well worth a visit. No swimming hat policy was not adhered to in the pool on each of my visits????
Firstly, the room was disappointing because the carpet didn't seem to have been cleaned as I noticed small bits of clay on it. There were only two small tubs of milk which I thought was a bit mean. The hairdryer didn't work. As I was only there for a short stay, these things didn't bother me too much (apart from the carpet). The breakfast was fine, but the dining room/lounge could do with an update. I noticed a large broken floor tile which looked like it had been broken for a while and looked as if you could turn your ankle in it. On the plus side, the staff were very nice, helpful and friendly, and the car park was very good and easy to enter and exit. The bathroom was very nice, a good size and very clean. Location very good and easy to get to.
We enjoyed our stay at the Hotel everything was excellent from booking in to comfortable room and the food was great. This was our second time in the Hotel and we are looking forward to our next visit. It was great that the Luas and the Shopping Centre was only a few minutes walk which made things even better.
We always stay in the Maldron when we go to Dublin, which is sometimes four times a year. Its a beautiful Hotel and staff are very friendly, the breakfast is so tasty and a great variety. Beds are very comfortable and rooms are spotless. The Luas and shopping centre is just across the road which is excellent when you don't want to drive into the city. Would highly recommend this hotel, and the Lidl breaks are great value.
We stayed here in Sept 2016. Staff friendly. Meal in restaurant was good.Room was very spacious and clean. Car park well sign posted .The only problem is that breakfast is not served till 8am on Sat and Sun so we had to skip it so this really should start at 7 or 7.30. There seemed to be plenty of staff around so please change same as we are staying here again very soon as it was good value for money. Noel [we did not use the pool as we had no time ] 3 to 4 stars rating
When we first checked in we were told that we had only booked one room (despite booking 2 rooms and having the confirmation email to prove this). The receptionist needed to leave and find out. Once she realised she was wrong we were given our rooms. The rooms were then wrong. We booked 2 twin rooms and they were both double. We had to wait for 30 minutes for them to fix this for us. Receptionist was polite and apologetic but it still wasted our time. Because we were delayed we had to cancel our reservation in a restaurant in Dublin and weren't able to get another reservation. Our rooms were fine. Clean and modern. They were however extremely warm and made it very difficult to sleep in. The hotel pool was a nice size but not very clean- there was a horrible smell of sewers and the the jacuzzi was out of order. Overall a bit run down. Breakfast wasn't great- poor standard of food served for the fry. None of us could finish it. Before we got the chance to leave for checkout at 12 we were hassled by the cleaner at 11:50 to check out. I've never experienced this before in a hotel- most hotels easily allow their guest a few minutes extra to check out. Overall it wasn't a great a hotel and was disappointed that Lidl Breaks have the hotel available on their website. I personally don't think it's a good enough standard for the website compared to other hotels I've stayed in through with the website
Nice clean accomodation, friendly staff... room was nice with a balcony overlooking the stadium.. Convienient parking. Enjoyed my stay.. Only had the breakfast and that was pretty good.
Did not have a very satisfactory stay, this struck me as a hotel that is maybe on it's last legs. Checked in with a child after a long day at the Dublin horse show to find we could not open the room door, had to go back down to reception 3 times before someone looked at it, when we entered the room eventually security took the access card and then locked us in the dark room for 10 minutes while changing the batteries on the door. It was a smoking room and smelled really bad so I asked to change rooms and had to make a 4th trip to reception bags and child in tow again. 30 minutes after check in we got into our room. Breakfast was alright but understaffed, no juice, then juice and no glasses and lots of dirty tables with a suited man serving the food? Location was perfect, near the square and luas. Pool a bit grubby with lots of buttons that didn't work. Noisy near the road, also would recommend a phone on each floor corridor to avoid trips to reception when things don't go to plan.
How to get into car park was unclear as it looked locked. Very helpful & friendly staff and the room was ideal. Good facilities & clean etc. We were staying at the weekend and the only thing was Breakfast started at 8am. A little late as I was due in the city for 9.15am so I had to make a choice - skip breakfast or be late. Very happy to recommend and would stay there again.
V satisfactory stay. Staff helpful and v efficient. Food v good. Comfortable beds and clean room. Enjoyed pool also. Definitely stay again.
Not very impressed with the hotel or location. The hotel manager done his best to accommodate us but there wasn't much he could do about the outdated decor or location or entertainment (or lack of).
Had a great time at the hotel, breakfast was delicios, spa was gorgeous
stayed in the maldron hotel tallaght on Saturday night 26-01-2016 got charged 79.00 and have to say it has been my worst hotel experience so far...the hotel staff weren't welcoming at all..i got to my room to find that the carpets are filthy and stained a smell in the room..i booked for 2 adults 1 child to find that when I got there they don't do family rooms so I was told on top of my 79.00 I had to paye 35.00 euro for a camp bed for my son..the camp bed came my son sat on it and a bar went from under the bed ...glad to say I wouldn recommend the hotel and wont be going back ina hurry
Wow!!! This is a very good comfortable modern hotel. Great accommodation - Fabulous room, free parking and wifi. Great leisure facilities - 20metre pool with sauna and steam room. The gym is one of the best Ive ever seen in a hotel. Great Food - Had a fab breakfast and evening meal. Its a short 3 minute walk to the Luas which brings you right to the city centre in 30 minutes.
V satisfatory 4 star rating
Beautiful hotel, staff are very friendly, Breakfast is delicious. When we go to Dublin we always stay at the Maldron in Tallaght...Perfect
My friend and myself stayed at this Hotel last Tuesday night (was booked originally for the Garth Brooks concert but we all know what happened there). We decided to go to the Hotel for the night anyway. The staff on arrival were very friendly and helpful and all members of staff that I dealt with during our stay were really lovely. The Leisure center was really nice (did find it a bit awkward that the reception is on a separate floor), otherwise was lovely. I had asked to be put in a quiet part of the hotel and we were. I had a great nights sleep in a very large double room with a huge bathroom, everything was clean and fresh, some of the furniture was a bit dated but that would not bother me. Breakfast the next morning was lovely, plenty of choice and everything was very fresh. So close to the Lewis line, bus stops, Tallagh shopping center, ATM's Cinema, you could not ask for more. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and would love to stay there again.
Great Hotel. Staff are very pleasant. Good Food. Clean rooms all the time.
The location and parking of the hotel was perfect as were the staff. The breakfast left a lot be desired, juice was very watery, no cutlery or glasses and no saucers for your cup of tea or coffee. Breakfast itself was quite poor as well.
excellent in every aspects. def will be back!
We enjoyed our stay in the Maldron Tallaght for its convenience to the Luas and The Square Shopping Centre. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Our room was adequate for our needs. The only fault was that the service at dinner was extremely poor and resulted in prolonged delays between courses this occured on each night of our 3 night stay. Other than that everything was satisfactory.
My friend and I stayed at the Maldron Hotel for just 1 night. We enjoyed our stay in a nice room with balcony, just a short walk from the Square and the luas, free parking and good food, enjoyed the leisure center too. We will be back for another longer stay. Well done to all the staff of the Maldron.
Excellent in every respect.
Excellent hotel. first class service. room was lovely very clean..food very good..overall a lovely experience. They allowed us to leave car in car park for the day while we went into Dublin (even though we'd checked out) will be booking another visit in 4 weeks.
Nice hotel but if your staying there get up very early if you want a full breakfast stayed there on Saturday 31st August went for breakfast at 9.40 hardly anything left was told I would have to wait 10 mins for sausages pudding eggs and hash browns what was the point in going for breakfast also Bar menu was very expensive you would be better off going to the Square
My special request for a room in quiet location was very well met and meant a lot. Very much appreciated. Room itself very comfortable. Staff very willing and helpful. Hotel in a great location. Comforting to know car was safe in underground car park. Will definitely use this hotel again. One star for each point so five stars!
Hotel is very clean. Food is over priced. The check in was terrible. Check out was no better.
Hi stayed for the weekend had s great time good food and the staff were great rooms great overall a great hotel
Hi I had a great weekend in the Maldron. Car parking facility is super. Luas nearby no need to drive in traffic.Hotel very comfortable, staff very effecient, swimming / jacussi available to guests. What more could you ask for . Highly recommended. My star rating would be 3 heading for 4
Excellent hotel and staff, handy for getting into town. Only €2.30 on Luas into the city. Comfy bed & tasty food. Will stay again. Free parking also. All good :)
very helpful staff, great location for getting by car from outside dublin, free secure parking too a plus
Stay was very nice, very handy to Luas line, less than a 5 minute walk, also to the civic theatre, the square shoppng centre. Very clean, very helpful staff, food good, breakfast excellent. The restaurant is really in the bar area but it suited us fine. Would definitely stay here again.
Stayed at the Maldron while visiting friends. Booked through Lidl-Breaks. Booking was quick and easy and very good value. Hotel was excellent. Fifth floor room gave a great view over the city. Had a meal in the bar which was great value and great service. 100% satisfaction.
On arrival the staff were very welcoming and helpful. The roon was just whtat we needed. The facilites were great. Overall we had a great stay and i would recommend this hotle to anyone.
