Throughly enjoyed my stay with my mother,
Exceptionally nice staff and beautiful leisure facilities.
Enjoyable food, comfortable bed, friendly staff. Relaxing stay all round.
The hotel was nice, however, a very strange layout. There was a noisy music performance in a conference room on the floor above our bedroom which was very loud. These performances should be on the ground level and not interfering with guests in bedrooms.
We had a lovely night thank you. I did find the beer and the bottles of corona were not great ,sorry to say. But everything else was super.
Lovely hotel, great breakfast
Nice hotel,friendly staff,good food.
We went for a night away and found the hotel perfect location. Lovely little stroll into the City. Room clean and bright. Bar food and breakfast were highly recommended. Atmosphere lovely. Really nice hotel highly recommended.
Staff very pleasant and efficient Our room was beautiful and bright Leisure centre fab on a wet morning
Enjoyed trip lovely hotel staff very friendly..
The staff were super nice and friendly. Really go out of their way to make your stay better!
Had a lovely stay with my Daughter, leisure centre was great, food was excellent. Hotel only a few minutes walk to city centre.
Work being done on hotel bar, definitely should have been voiced. Room we were given did not look like any pictures from the hotels website. There was construction noises at 7:30 am very loud and clear (room window was closed) and hoovering outside our room at 8am too early! Foyer of hotel is very beautiful, unfortunately didn’t get a chance to use pool/spa facilities. Staff were nice. Overall just feel as though I was robbed, reception kept exclaiming that I got such a good deal but for that level €240 for 2 nights is not great now. Dublin prices that is

Loved our overnight stay in the Hotel Kilkenny. Very reasonable price for 1 night B & B. Very comfortable bed and a nice view out the window. The room was very clean. The staff are very friendly. Excellent breakfast. Its about a 15min walk into the city. Thanks
Staff at Hotel Kilkenny were lovely and services were amazing. Unfortunately there was no access to the bar due to renovations causing a closure. This was not pointed out when booking or made aware on the hotels website and this was a disappointment. As the bar would have provided an environment for leisure and a social aspect to communicate with others adding to the environment that was expected when booking this weekend away.
Very average ,room not very clean ,very dated ,furnishings very tired .Not up to an acceptable standard of most hotels of 4 star rating. Decorations in reception area really poor.Staff serving breakfast very you g and very little training. But we’re very pleasant.
Amazing staff, hugely welcoming and spotless. Barfood and breakfast was delightful.
everything was great
Very friendly service. Spanish waitress went to great lenghts to accomodate our requests very friendly staff in leisure centre. Room very comfortable although little cold when arrived as heating comes on at 5 pm. Overall extremely comfortable stay. Breakfast very nice plenty choice and lots to eat!
Beautiful outside and inside! It was our 5th anniversary and we enjoyed it so much at the Kilkenny Hotel. Really loved the pool, it was amazing and the staff were all lovely. Can’t wait to come back again.
Really enjoyed our stay at your hotel. All staff very helpful and friendly. Will be back.
Really enjoyed our trip Staff so friendly Felt very safe
Used pool but was not told could not have a shower after. Breakfast service was very bad service. On second day we had to ask for our tea and coffee 3 times and toast 4. They were given to other tables. Had dinner their and was good.
It was a very friendly welcome front the receptionist with champagne Accommodation helped us with all the extras pillows towels etc We stayed for 2 nights Pool was lovely We got room service for breakfast both mornings staff were pleasant and helpful Can't wait for another break thank you hotel kilkenny
Lovely hotel. room really spacious... and really quiet too..just as I asked. Close to town as well just 10 minute walk . Quality of food really high. Had 2 dinners and thoroughly enjoyed. Compliments to the chef! We will be back.
The best staff efficiency I have ever experienced. Special mention for the cleanliness throughout the hotel. June, General Manager, was so accommodating and friendly and superb to us. And to her staff. The break was just what we needed. Thank you to all in Hotel Kilkenny ????????
Really nice hotel, rooms were really nice ....will return
Wonderful hotel. Staff very nice ,esp Michael in the main Bar. We got a wonderful upgrade as we are Frontline workers. It was a great surprise. Rooms were fab and spotless. Def will come back again.
Lovely hotel and great stuff
Beautiful hotel room was fab all staff very pleasant and welcoming all following covid restrictions
Great people; good food (breakfast) ; very comfy room; limited spa due to covid but an enjoyable swim was possible.
Love the hotel, lovely location, breakfast was perfect, will be booking again
On the negative side, we were disappointed with the reception: not a welcome or a smile, and the mask did not disguise, he had very poor understanding of English, I had to repeat my name several times, ...not a good manner for receptionist. Excellent breakfast with first class service.
I would highly recommend Hotel Kilkenny to any of my friends or family. Very clean , friendly staff and will definitely return.
Staff amazing, beautiful hotel good food and literally a 10 minute walk from the town. Great size rooms
We stayed in the hotel Kilkenny for one night only as planned . The first room we were given was ground floor looking at a car park . There were no blinds or sheer curtains on the windows so you would have to have pulled the heavy curtains over for privacy so we asked to be moved . We were moved to the 2nd floor which was the same room type but was better located. We found it to be a very noisy hotel with lots of children constantly running through the corridors and on the upstairs floors also . This was a Saturday night on the12th sept so we did not expect lots of children at that time of year . We found the hotel is quite dated and the paintwork in parts of the room definitely needs to be refreshed. The chairs in the room were of a fabric covering and they looked like they needed a really good clean or the fabric replacing on both of them . The Covid restrictions were well adhered to and there is a good outdoor area to have food/ drinks which was good to have . Bar food and breakfast were fine with no complaints . Staff were very helpful and pleasant at all times.
Staff amazing, beautiful hotel good food and literally a 10 minute walk from the town. Great size rooms
Lovely hotel and room
Lovely Hotel. Very clean and nice food.
Lovely hotel very friendly staff nice clean swimming pool and the food was 10/10 will definitely be booking again
My daughter and I really enjoyed our stay. The swimming pool is is fab. The staff were really pleasant. Our breakfast was very tasty. Will definitely visit again. ????
The hotel was so clean staff was amazing and friendly. Room very clean .under current restrictions the stay was very peaceful and comfortable and hopefully we will be back very soon
Lovely hotel
The hotel was beautiful, staff were helpful and accommodating. Breakfast was lovely and staff were very attentive and had the whole set up running very smoothly. The manager on duty went around to each table ensuring all guests were ok. Would definitely stay here again. Great hotel
Nice hotel just a short drive from the city centre. Comfortable rooms, limited leisure centre/pool facilities due to current climate, which you have to book in for. Decent & plentiful breakfast. Woken by doors slamming & guests talking loudly late at night but that's not the hotels fault.
Very dissappointed, led to believe that we could get a drink in the lounge as a resident this was not true unless a meal was purchased and only allowed so much time to consume same. The breakfasts were a farce as firstly there was no room in the dining room, moved to the bar where the seating was totally unsuitable for eating. The orders were totally mixed up on several occassions also, one scrambled egg and salmon was so long under a heat lamp that it was totally stuck to the plate at this time the cereal came and juice afterwards, then came the tea and coffee with toast. when i looked for a swim it was totally booked out by non residents. We were awoken in the morning before seven o clock by rubbish trucks collecting bins making an unbelievable racket and soon after double doors close to our rooms constantly being banged. The locks on the room doors were so heavy that they needed to be closed with a bang to close and this noise echoed through the hotel,a lovely seating area to the front of the hotel where one could relax, and it was so big social distancing would not be a problem was totally taped off, so if you were a smoker you had to stand outside the main doors to do so.Four star hotel I do not think so.
50 minutes is not sufficient time to complete a gym workout and being asked to leave for 10 minutes every hour is not necessary even in these unsafe times. 75 minute sessions with 15 minute sanitation period would be far more effective. The gym staff, especially Olivia did however compensate for the disturbance by being very sociable and professional.
Room large, bright and clean. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Very good breakfast and evening meal, Excellent pool area with steam room and sauna, Overall very enjoyable experience
Excellent hotel ....lovely staff
Great hotel for a great price
I was very happy with my stay . The bedroom was comfortable and staff friendly and efficient.
excellent hotel and very friendly staff would stay there again geraldine holland 5 star rating
Absolutely great time and a great place, well done to all the staff and a special mention to Emma and Jerry who are there to look after people, as you know that's what it's all about, well done again
excellent, couldnt fault it, lovely balcony from room , beautiful swimming pool
We recently booked 3 rooms for a family break, We did have problems with 'allowing' for 2 children on our booking, but on contacting the hotel, this was immediately sorted. The hotel placed us in 3 adjoining rooms, which was both convenient and helpful. The rooms were clean and tidy, fresh linen and well cleaned and set up. We found the hotel to be well above average, the staff were extremely friendly and helpful, the facilities were fabulous and the breakfast (we went B&B) was freshly cooked to order, with a wide choice of cereals, fruit, etc. before our fried breakfast. We also dined on one of our two nights, and have no problem in recommending the food, it was cooked freshly, arrived hot and the service and delivery was prompt and courteous. Overall, I would have no problem recommending the hotel, it is in a convenient location for the city centre, within 15 minutes walk, even using a walking stick. I have no problems giving both LIDL Breaks (who we use regularly) and Hotel Kilkenny 5 stars. We will be back, and that is the best compliment we can give. Thanks everybody for a relaxing and peaceful break --
Excellent hotel and location just outside of city is excellent also
Very nice Hotel, good location about 10mins walk to city , very friendly and helpful staff, great facilities, good food especially enjoyed the freshly cooked breakfast. Would highly recommend and hope to stay here again.
Beautiful hotel, Friendly staff great location
I very much enjoyed my time in the Hotel Kilkenny, lovely rooms, great breakfast and very pleasant staff.
We spend 2 nights at Hotel Kilkenny earlier this week and we had a great stay. It was very hot in the rooms due to the unusually hot weather. Otherwise everything was great, the spa treatments, dinner etc. The staff really make this hotel.
The hotel was nice, slightly disappointed with the room.. Had expected a king bed ( as most hotels have and we are tall people) . The room had a double only. Otherwise clean and pleasant view out onto the orchard. Probably wouldn't stay again though because of the lack of king bed.
Perfect location, Taxi €6 into main street. Rooms old fashioned, and bathrooms need a full renovation. Staff were very plesent and helpful, no faults there. Bar/Lobby/Resturant all lovely and very modern. If staying try get a room and back of hotel away from conference room as its very noisy and can hear everything. Overall was a plesent stay but it does get a 3/5 rating for the noise, location of room we staying in and how old the bathroom and parts of bedroom was.
Great hotel, lovely staff, good facilities, good food especially enjoyed the freshly cooked and served breakfast.
Spent one night at the hotel Kilkenny with my daughter and my sister and had a lovely time there. We had a triple room which was spacious and modern with a nice bathroom. We were on a B &B basis and I must say the breakfast was fantastic. We ate at the restaurant that night and the food was really great. The waiting staff were lovely. We also used the swimming pool, jacuzzi etc and had a lovely experience. Iwe would certainly be staying at hotel Kilkenny in the future.
Óstán deas é seo ar imeall na cathrach ar bhóthar Chluain Meala. Siúlóid timpeall 15 nóiméad ó lár an bhaile. Ã?iseanna maithe fóilliochta ann, linn snámha agus seomra glacaÃochta. Bricfeasta úr ar maidin. Rachfainn ann arÃs.
Absolutely fabulous, staff and hotel were lovely, great value close to town and loved the pool.
The Hotel Kilkenny is situated very close to City even if you don't have transport.Staff very friendly and attentive at both Reception and in the Dining areas and bars.Food in all dining areas was very good.Standard room spacious and with all you would expect from a hotel of this level. As with a lot of hotels in Ireland the check-in times are getting annoying, 4pm means it makes it difficult to even use swimming pool when you don't have a room.On this occasion we arrived before lunch and went down to City but was contacted at 1.30pm to say our room was ready, which was much appreciated. We had a lovely stay.
Booked through lidl for a night out in the city. Got a great price. Beautiful comfortable hotel with friendly, helpful staff. Lovely bar food and breakfast. My friends enjoyed the pool although I did not use it. We got a taxi into the city, only a couple of minutes away. Had a couple of alterations with the booking prior to arrival and the staff at lidl were fantastic and so helpful and accomodating. Would def use Lidl breaks and Hotel Kilkenny again, highly recommended!!
first review ever , lovely hotel , lovely staff, best breakfasts , the room was faultless beds really comfy, only eat in the bar one night portions a bit small ,about 15 minutes to city center walking , lovely clean city, people lovely great crack in the pubs , we will be back for sure
Hotel very nice. Rooms nice and food in bar was really tasty. The only down fall was the hotel was 15min walk outside city
Great value for literally last minute booking. So happy I was listening to Today FM as cost of hotel much more cost effective with Today FM B breaks.
Had a wonderful stay at Hotel Kilkenny, short walk into town ,lovely rooms and very helpful staff.Breakfast was very good and would stay again no problem.
We booked a double room in the hotel from Sunday 12 July to Wednesday 15th July 2015. The staff were very courteous and friendly throughout our stay. The room was bright and airy and ample in size. The food was excellent in the hotel and and great value for money. We also made use of the leisure sweet, which was very relaxing. Our experience of the hotel was very enjoyable and we got great value for money. We will definitely go back for a return visit.
Hotel Kilkenny is an excellent place to stay, lovely rooms, very helpful staff, great price and great location, it's a few minutes outside of town so it's nice quiet and tranquil with lots of shrubs and greenery around it, and just a nice into Kilkenny. I particularly enjoyed the Breakfast, fresh berries, without any added sugars and fresh melon, plus a fabulous Irish Breakfast. I had a most enjoyable stay at the Hotel and I would highly recommend for a break away. Philomena Hunt. 5 Star rating.
The most beautiful hotel we have ever stayed in. From the foyer to the bar and the bedrooms all were very high standards. We had dinner in the restaurant and lunch in the bar and the food was top class. There is a beautiful leisure centre equipped with a hairdressers. We will definitely be returning.
Music by Gerard Busher was very good, Michael in the bar has to be a Godsend to any business - food portions very good and nice food. Pool cold.. The room itself was standard -staff pleasant and helpful - I personally would never rate the hotel 4star.
Couldn't recommend it highly enough. the staff, the rooms, the facilities, were all excellent. Worth every penny. Will definitely be back again. 5***** Thanks Caroline Wall and Friends xx
We had a lovely relaxing break at hotel Kilkenny. Very busy hotel with excellent staff, good bar food. convenient to walk into city, lovely spa adjacent to hotel but was unfortunately fully booked during our stay. would highly recommend this hotel. colette
Hi we very much enjoyed our stay in Hotel Kenny having booked through Irish Rail. The accomodation, dining and leisure facilities were very good. Perhaps a few more Irish people serving would have added something but the staff were all very nice. All in all a good experience.
Would highly recommend this hotel. Beautiful decor, very nice staff, great location and good food.
Great location, great staff, great breakfast, lovely pool, clean rooms a little bit noisy between 1.30 and 3am with wedding crowd but luckily we were very tired. Also they need to get the steam room fixed as according to local pool user it has been broken for a week or two. Would have complained about noise if I had paid full price!
We were very happy with our night in Hotel Kilkenny - had three twin rooms booked for a "work night out "- did not have dinner in hotel as we were eating in the fab Rinuccinis but breakfast was very nice. Laura in reception was very helpful on arrival and booked taxis for us. Was disappointed not to have time to go for a swim the next day as the leisure centre looked nice. Would definitely stay again.
This hotel is a somewhat underwhelming experience. The view from our room was appalling, there's no air conditioning, the shower/bath is quite old fashioned and the walls are so thin that the people in the next room kept us awake half of the night by having a loud conversation! Add to that a 4pm check in time and dour looking staff and you will understand my disappointment. Breakfast was nice though!!
stayed in this hotel last saturday night. Very enjoyable, staff very good, room lovely, Leisure centre was very clean. Would recomend this hotel. WILL BE BACK.
Lovely hotel with good facilities, wasn't happy with room that we were given, seemed like we were just thrown into any old room, wasn't happy when we returned to our car the next morning to find out that it had been tampered with and defaced, hotel is a bit out of the town but as it was a lovely evening the stroll in was grand
