Absolutely nice and decent. Highly recommended for anyone. Unfortunately, I couldn’t wait for my breakfast due to travel schedule.

We had a relaxing overnight stay in the Abbey Hotel. The room we were allocated had a nice view of Donegal Bay, however, it was also in need of refurbishment. It also lacked basic bedroom furniture, such as a dressing table which I found a little bizarre for a hotel guest room. We booked an evening meal in the Market House Restaurant within the hotel. The restaurant has a great atmosphere, friendly staff and delicious food, we would normally eat there when we stay in Donegal Town. We decided after our stay in the Abbey Hotel that we prefer it's sister hotel, the Central (which we'd stayed in during the previous month) as the rooms were of a higher standard. We definitely will return to the Market House Restaurant but will probably stay in the Central Hotel on our next visit!

Lovely staff at reception and in dining room all with real homely Donegal accents. Bedroom a little too warm for us but reception did everything to help

Very disappointed with stay. We were put in room above kitchen with fans running outside window like a jet engine. We booked a table at reception for 8.00 pm and when we arrived there was no record same , embarrassing standing there trying to get sorted and a queue building up behind you . Not happy on this occasion .

The Abbey hotel has a beautiful entrance and bar area and breakfast was delicious however our room was very disappointing old furniture, bathroom floor and bedroom carpet was dusty bedlinen was clean but pillows were very uncomfortable. The windows only opened a little and it was very warm. For me if a hotel doesn't have air conditioning there should be a fan system in your room. To top off an already sleepless night due to the heat the smoke alarm system went off at 2.45am. Unless they update their rooms we won't be returning.

Hotel was gr8 and very clean and well maintained. Staff were amazing and couldn't fault a thing. Definitely a hidden gem and I'd love to go back sometime and spend another nite or mayb more in this wee hotel. With covid19 hitting everywhere The Abbey had done everything plus more to ensure people's safety and followed the guildlines. Again this hotel is absolutely amazin

Lovely staff, all very helpful. Breakfast was well organised and the young girls working the breakfast shifts were especially friendly.

The hotel had a system on entry for the virus which seemed to work well. There was sanitizer everywhere. The staff were very nice and the breakfast was really nice. I would go back without hesitation. A great time !
